I think it’s more like a Ross or something.

Brands you’ve never heard of, cheap versions of other things that are decent.

Yep, that's HF. When you only need a tool or something for one time use it has its advantages. When that something continues giving it's a win. I'm a HF patron but can't seem to find a need for their products at every coupon/special.

Thanks for the info. I'm looking for a decent tig but don't have the budget for a squarewave 200 or diversion 180.

Has anyone bought/used their generators? I was looking at this one and wanted some input before I buy. Just in case they are not the best.

A friend of mine has the 8750, and my dad has the inverter 2000 suitcase style. Both are quieter than I expected, and work well.

My neighbor bought one. Way to undersized for his needs though. Its funny watching them try to get it started. They run it like once a year and it sits the rest. Power goes out and they spend an hour ot get it started just to keep popping the breakers cause they are trying to run their somewhat large (for residential home) grow op. Pretty sure its when exhaust fans kick on or something larger load as itll run fine for a bit then bam no power.

Not something id want to use in a campground but for home use it works fine.

The only meaningful tools I've bought from HF are jack stands and a hydraulic floor jack. Everything is decent quality and great price. Hard to complain.

I don't weld a ton, mostly repairing snowmobile suspensions and atv parts, so I think I'd be ok with it

Motor and compressor loads can draw up to 300% more than their rating during startup, so if you sized the generator based on the locked rotor current you should be fine.

I know the ac unit in my trailer needs 2500 watts to run

Best way to size it would be to find the nameplate on the compressor itself, and go from there. Otherwise, I think they have a 90 day return policy? But maybe not for a generator.

I'm going to go check them out. Online it says they have the 90 day for them.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
Gotta get 6 ton for most uses, although I find that with those and my current rear suspension my axle can still rest on the floor :/
