Yeah, Harbor Freight gets a bad rap, but for the price I don't think you can beat the HF boxes. I have one of the 44" boxes, and it is way better than any of the craftsman/lowes/HD boxes.

I agree. I have the 56 US General and love it.

Im looking to get my first electric impact (3/8 or 1/2 Drive haven't gotten that far).

Does HF have anything decent or should i head to lowes/Home depot?

I want to be able to rip the lugs off the truck on the trails and do all the shit that using a ratchet for 30+ is getting old :)

Lenox. Those have treated me great!

    Pricey but much better!

HF blades, and drill bits are trash.

I got tired of breaking them, or getting nuts stuck. Although it has been years since I used those.

Switched to Sunnex for all my universals
Switched to old Crapsman USA impact sockets (have a bunch of snap off junk too)

This is my main socket drawer, all my go to normal sockets are in another drawer on a tool cart 20161126_002741.jpg

Regardless of brand, I'd get 1/2" drive. As far as brand, I've never tried the HF so I can't speak to it. I have a dewalt and man it's a beast. Here's what I have

    https://www.dewalt.com/en-us/produc...t-wrench-w-detent-pin-anvil-kit-50ah/dcf899p1

With that being said, it's a large, unwieldy mother fucker. I don't mind it so much though because I wanted something that can handle any nut or bolt thrown at it. A much more mild option is their new mid range version. 1/2" drive but half the size and half the power.

I would not give anything electeic at HF a chance. They suck.

Dewalt, even though I do not like the company makes a bad ass electric impact in 1/2. Corded and cordless

    For cordless I have Rigid 1/4 and 1/2, milwakee 1/2, crapsman 1/2 and dewalt 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2

The Rigid and Dewalts are my go to, they are great. The red one is way too expensive and batteries sucked. Crapsman treated me welln good tool (c3) but the batteries suck.

    Ac
    Accurate!

The craftsman C3, and rigid 1/2 cordless are both a good comprimise. They are small enough, and have good power.

I would get the rigid, even though it cost a little more. The batteries are way better, and the tool has a little more ass.

I don't know of any corded impacts that are not big clunky fuckers, but that 1/2 dewalt is a great tool for its purpose.

This one is sweet. Much more compact than the bigger one but still plenty of power to yank off all but the most stubborn bolts.

I have not used that one, but reviews are great. I know it has more ass than my 1/2 cordless impacts.

But I have no need for another. All i ever do cordless is little shit, or changinf wheels etc in the woods.

If my 1/4 can't do it I break out the air.

I love all the gen 5 Rigids.

Replaced my well worn gen 4 cordless tools last year with them.

China needs to copy X-frames, and snap off flank drive plus wrenches (i like wrightgrip better)

If you look carefully you will see some multi colored HF wrenches. Those are great. I use the shit out of them, the ones in the drawer are odd's or spares

What did you break them on? I’ve beat em for years in the coal mines and gas fields. Agreed snap on and sunnex are a tad better finish and quality but I only use them on rebuilds or when I’m pulling an engine in the shop.
For dirty, muddy, oil coverered heavy equipment it’s hard to beat the harbor freight stuff. Hell even hydraulic wrenches up to 2.5 inches I use their stuff. I love my sunnex and snap on but couldn’t pay me to use and abuse that stuff in the field.
