yeah with the adapters it worked like a charm when I put it to the test installing my Dakars over the weekend. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't going to do any damage to the thing using it with big adapters like that. I go through and check all the torque anyway with a torque wrench

Any big job on the truck or a bike with lots of R/R - and you will quickly see how useful a small impact driver can be. Having one on hand saved me hours on a supercharger install.

Used it on Saturday to install my Dakars and it worked like a charm, the battery drains pretty quick though but that's to be expected I think with what I was using it for. On the bright side, it charges very quickly (full charge in 60 minutes), I'll probably pick up a second battery for it to swap between the two.

i have the ryobi. works great for a 1/4. also bought a 3/8inch adapter and then sometime use 1/2 on that just to buzz bolts down. but i recently bought the ryobi 1/2in impact as well and it works decent. not enough torque to break wheel lugs loose but maybe i tighten them too much :notsure:

That's good input, I'm really in the market for a 1/2 but will go with the same brand's entire line for battery purposes.. Lugs is a big reason why I'd want the 1/2 .. that and for trail repairs.

My 1/4 Hercules impact driver works on my lugs with the 3/8 adapter, takes a few seconds to knock them loose but once it does they come off in the blink of an eye.

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
Any good modern 1/2" impact should not even sweat to break 300 lb ft free, as long as you have adequate air.

    My old HF Earthqauke would.

Junk cambel housefield or whatever are not even worth the space.

I have a Ryobi impact driver as well as drill and 1/2" impact. The impact driver is awesome when doing wood work. Screws go in so.much easier than a drill. I have a bunch of adapters for it as well for different types of bits and sockets.

Nice, yeah it looks like it will work much better than my power drill. I mostly wanted one to use with sockets for nuts and bolts, lug nuts, etc. so was a little worried at first that the 1/4" drive wouldn't cut it. But it works well with the adapters. I need to get the accessories pack for it with all the different size screw drivers so it can replace my power drill.

Anything bigger than about a 5/8" bolt is going to be beyond the 1/4" drive's ability. And really - Lug nuts? :goingcrazy:

It might work the first couple of times - but you'll burn the driver out PFQ. Just because a driver is rated ~ 1,000 in*lbs or about 100 N*m doesn't mean it can handle those sustained torques. Take the maximum torque ratings with a grain of salt.

I've had it 4-5 yrs. Its mostly used for changing blades on my commercial mowers and works great. I keep it and a 12v charger behind the crew cab seats so I always have it. Brakes lugnuts loose no problem as well.

No, I think they were just coming out when I was working there. I know that we carried them, but I don’t remember selling too many. Most people I knew either got up in the tree to trim, or they used the manual tree pruner/ saw, which has always been my preferred method.

Used a $4 soldering iron today to wire up an AUX input for my '05 stereo. Worked perfectly. All for less than $10.

Finished up the wheel cart for my cooler.
In the last two pictures you can see the indexing features that mate up to the rubber feet of the cooler. A couple of river straps to lock it to the axles and you're in business!
The setup doesn't have steering capability, but I'm satisfied with how it all came out.
