I've used my HF heat gun countless times for cleaning guns, wiring and vinyl. Still going strong!

My heat gun caught on fire the first time I used it :bananadead: When I returned it and told the cashier, she wasn't even phased.

The HF variable speed router controller should work with it once you find the adjusting pot

Wait what!? How's that even happen. My Stanley ratchet I've had for years will flip itself all the time while using it. It kills me.

So, I understand the risk of buying a harbor freight item, and the risk of buying a “pro grade” floor jack for under $200. Even though they push the yellow pro Daytona jack as being the best they sell, the orange 3 ton low pro long reach Daytona is still $10 more lol
Bought one today, only one in town... should have taken a guess when it’s the only one available in Vegas right now...
Box looked retaped but I pushed along, $205 with tax out the door, get home, and one of the casters are bent, won’t budge. Putting it on a flat surface, it’s bent as well, front large wheel doesn’t even touch the ground. Here’s to another week of the truck sitting around because they don’t get a shipment in until next Wednesday.

Be careful. The tip on mine came apart, and after playing phone tag for all of 3 hours I gave up. Things just sitting in my dads garage collecting dust.

I would not touch a "retaped" or otherwise seemingly repackaged HF product with a specially built 11-foot pole. Their final "product control" IS tbe consumer...

I once bought a computer chair at walmart, only to get it home and find out someone put their old chair in the box, taped it back up and returned it to the store....

I’d imagine that the store can see on their end that you were sold an open box item.

Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
I purchased oil once at Advance Auto. Took it home, went to do the oil change to find out it was used. When I took it back, they were very good about it, bitched that one of the guys needs to mark the used ones.

I'm surprised they even kept the jug. All the stores by me wont accept the jugs. They dump the oil into tanks/drums and give back the containers.

I never thought of using my heat gun!

I sous-vide a lot and have used the propane torch for a sear before, but the heat gun is a great idea!
