I got that for my son last Christmas , works good, but you need a gorilla to disconnect the battery from the adapter , it came apart real hard. On the up side, a tool made for 18volts works even harder with 20 volts pushing it.

    They’re both 18V.

Wow, now I need to remember where I saw them cheaper. It looks like everyone has gone up on them.

From everything I've read you need to remove the battery from the adapter when not in use to prevent it discharging.

This is the best advice a person could give someone just starting out or on a tight budget. Don't overlook yard sales and estate sales too, if you have the time and don't need the tools right away. The golden rule for both is "The early bird gets the worm" or instead of worm tools.

Jacks are generally excluded, but keep an eye out. Around the time of major holidays, they will sometimes discount the excluded stuff. For Black Friday, they kicked out a non-excluded 20% off coupon.

If you are not in a rush, I'd wait to see what comes up either just before or after Christmas.

I waited for over a year to get a better deal on one of the air-assisted bottle jacks. The 20ton, $120 one was discounted to $80:

    upload_2018-12-10_10-57-5.jpg

I was generally looking at the 12ton one, but 20ton for $10 less? Hell yeah!

Also, keep an eye out for discounts on the aluminum ones at Costco.

I got mine for $40. No box, no handle. Love the clearance table.

Yeah. I look there and at the return table during Parking Lot events. I was SOL, but it was still a deal in my book.

I keep looking there for the impact drivers also. In the end, nothing beat the corded one that I got for $30. Their new one for $99 with a lot more TQ looks interesting but too much for my needs.

JimmySport sounds like the person to ask about the Harbor Freight buffer @JimmySport =>

I have the Griot's 6" and 3" polisher. Plus a generic high speed cheap buffer from Harbor Freight. I used to detail for a living before I got into doing Tint. so all of my tools are sitting in my garage ready to go if need be.

orbital, no. I have one of their high speed buffers though and its decent for the price. it has last me for about 10 years and still going. but mine is one of the older actual metal ones. I think the newer ones are mostly plastic.

errr yeah I meant one of the high speed buffers that looks like an angle grinder. My paint needs a little love and I figured I'd give it a shot before I start looking at repainting options :)

yup I have one. works great when I need it. I don't use it too often anymore. I can do almost as good with my Griot's 6" variable speed polisher and orange cutting pad.

I'm no expert, barely a novice, but the HF DA polisher did an amazing job on my pinstripes and the wife's Forester.

I used the Warrior backing plate but since bought a couple different ones from Chemical Guys.

I actually just looked and the one I have they no longer offer. but they still have the plastic version of it for $48.99. just change the backing plate and pad. the tie on pad is absolute shit and won't accomplish anything. mine actually came with the same tie on pad all those years ago. but I never even mounted it to my buffer. I threw it away on day 1. mine is very similar to this one except mine is not plastic. a word of advice, these type of buffers can and will burn paint if you have the speed up too high and use a real abrasive compound. these are not for the detailing novice. if you don't know how to do paint correction correctly with a high speed buffer, stick with an orbital polisher.

Yeah jacks are excluded from the 20-25% coupons but they run sales & have coupons for them.

Search the p/n for the jack you want here: https://www.hfqpdb.com

I'm done with aluminum jacks for home use, they suck. I have the yellow Daytona Snap On copy jack. That thing is nice, best jack i have ever owned. Never thought I would ever say that about a HF product.

They have an orange Daytona line also. The yellow one (only one model) is their "top of the line" Daytona but the orange ones are still goo too I hear.

Their alumn jacks are ok for cars & stuff or if you need one for portable use. But I'll never buy an alumn jack again or to use on my truck at home. I still have an alumn one from Matco that still works fine but I don't trust it to lift my truck. The yellow Daytona lifts the front of my truck without needing any wood.

I use their corded 1/2” impact and impact sockets all the time. Never an issue and has broke everything loose I’ve tried so far. For like $60 total investment... hard to beat.
