The digital calipers work well. Relatively accurate and cheap. There.

Won’t work on most Toyota calipers but I can use it on older air cooled VW and Porsche cars.

“Relatively accurate” calipers aren’t very useful to me.

OK suggestions welcome,,, I need a cordless drill, not heavy duty or anything, maybe lightly used once per week (you know, a mall-crawler). What's HF got I should consider? Big part of my consideration will be the extra battery I've already got for BD outdoor tools, their 20volt cordless is $49 with battery/charger and I've got a 2nd battery already. I'm not opposed to spending maybe 25% more (say up to $65). My sears one was a real workhorse but alas sears no more.

Gonna tuck this one in my hip pocket to forget later, but then remember after I struggled to overcome the issue.

Bought a little 3.5 gallon parts washer like this 10 years ago at HF. $39.99 or something like that. Love this thing.

    The Bauer 20V is great.

Less great is price comparisons to name brand tools, but the tool itself is legit. My coworker has been running an issued 20V impact for maybe 18 months, used constantly. No issues with the drill or the battery/charger.

If I needed a drill and could only buy one from HF, I would not be upset.

It's within a couple thousandths of an inch and that is ok with me. I've had some that were better, but I consider this relatively accurate and good enough for brake pads. This is a HF thread after all. If you want a high end caliper this ain't it. If you want to check your brakes they work great.

Icon is releasing wrenches soon. Supposed to be made in the same factory as Napa’s Carlyle brand.

Didn't know that - I learned something today

The digital calipers are spot on - or at least mine are. I have checked them against reference comparators and use them for reloading ammerroes.

The ones are Kmart and Sears are the same but the ones at Lowe’s are different. The Lowe’s Craftsman stuff is made by the same company that makes Dewalt.

Stanley bought the craftsman brand some years ago and closed the US plant and started doing business with Chinese factories. Sales plummeted so they've announced that they will move manufacturing to Texas. When, no one knows.
