Harbor Freight tools thread.

May pick one up if I end up getting a plasma cutter

 

Back in 2005 I bought a toolbox full of HF tools to ride around the Caribbean on my sailboat with me. I figured they’ll be destroyed in the saltwater environment so cheap was the way to go. I wasn’t going to bring my “good” stuff. Aside from loosing a couple overboard to King Neptune, after 14 years they’re still with me and riding around the USA in my T@b travel trailer. Definitely surprised me.

 

Any reviews on these anywhere? I’m looking at the oil one, not the oil-free one.

 

I didn't look very hard, other than what's on their website.

Ok, On the 10 % off coupon after you use it once do they mark it on your account or something or can you use it more than once?? say like daily?

 

I've used the same coupon 4 times in a day, and the same coupon 5 days in a row.

Oh well,mine is at the bottom of the Mississippi river.Borrowed it to a guy to cut anchor line,and he dropped it.But I knew some that dropped much more expensive knives overboard.

Anybody have any expierence with either of these? I'm thinking about going big and getting the hydraulic feed model but wondering if it's worth it. I've been cutting steel with my evolution chop saw which does a good job but it's deafening loud and I feel bad for my neighbors when I'm using it lol.

Get the hydrdalic one. I have my dads old one that’s probably 5-8 years old since he got a new one. Still runs good and cuts straight with a good blade. The dampener is leaking and I have to assist the motor to start sometimes but has cut a lot of metal over its life. My dads new one he made a stand that’s on 4 wheels and table height so no more bending over to measure etc.

 

Thanks for the feedback. Lots of good reviews out there for both but I think I can justify the hydraulic saw. Planning a trailer build this winter so should have allot of larger dimension rectangular tube to cut.

That clamp above looks good. Looks just like the Strong Hand ones that I have.

 

So far no issues with them.

 

I have used the crap out of my 2. They work perfectly for everything from holding steel to weld to holding timbers while putting up a back deck.

 

If anybod in the Phoenix area needs a welder HF has a couple open box deals on the Titanium 170 for $250 and a Vulcan Mig Max for around $550.

 

Anyone have their large Fortress air compressor? I looking at the 27 gallon one for $400.

My current electric DeVilbiss 5 HP 20 gallon one is over 20 years old. Didn't expect it to last that long.
