I know I'm wayyyy late to the party, but steer clear of that one. My mig gun exploded one day while using it, and I got the runaround by HF and Chicago Electric trying to get replacement parts. Thing is collecting dust in my dad's shop somewhere.

But you’ll just have one 2ah battery. The batteries are quite expensive and 2ah is the smallest one they make. The $279 deal with 5ah battery is the better deal.

I wonder how this stacks up against the Lotus machines. The Lotus are a little cheaper and have hundreds of positive reviews for a budget machine. I'd pay the extra for the titanium if the quality is notable.

We shall see, I'm moving companies right now. Tomorrow is my last day and if they give me my year end bonus I'm definitely buying that kit! If not, I have to hold off haha cause I wont get paid for over a month.

It's a brand new item, we only started selling it the week of 11/8 so I don't have much data to produce a returns trend analysis.

However, based on the data I do have, returns are mice nuts compared to the sales we're seeing.

That's good to hear. The specs and display look really nice. I was looking at the HF website specs and didn't see if it is pilot arc?

Also doesn't have that dumb twist lock plug like the lotus machines so that's a plus!

Ordered a Bauer 1/2 inch corded compact with a $30 off coupon! Can't wait to try it out, I'll be installing gusseted spindles over the holiday next week and wanted to have something for my lugs and axle nut.

I stand corrected on any comments I had on Harbor Freight battery power tools, which I still think are overpriced. My $100 20V Lithium 4A-hr Dewalt battery is already bad after 15 months of ownership. Thats with good battery maintenance practices (ie. always keeping it mostly topped off, and stored indoors during winter temperatures). Stupid battery causes my $180 Dewalt 1/2 impact driver to stop when loosing lug nuts. Sudden voltage drop while under load causing the tool to stop - which means at least one of the cells already is nearly dead. Thankfully there is a 3 year warranty on the battery.

Stuff your stockings with those shitty brushes and bad electrical tape. The Teflon does the trick just fine, and the flashlight? Free?! YOU MEAN IT?!
