    Some stuff...
I've got the 1 ton engine hoist, 20 gallon upright (oil) air compressor, a pneumatic impact wrench set and a few step drill bits - for my needs, all have fared well for the price.

Here is a funny story I wish to tell from October this year. This is in my build thread, and thought it fit well into this thread...

Back story, is I took my leaf springs out to be drilled for isolators, to keep them quiet.

When I took the springs off the truck I threw them in the car and drove to North County Spring shop. When I was there talking to the owner, I encountered some trouble. He said that it would be $200 to take the pack apart and install the isolators and reassemble the pack.

There is no way I was going to pay that.

After further discussion, he wouldn't do it for anything less. He would however drill the holes and provide the isolators for $4 each but I had to tear down the pack.

He looked at me and said, I'm going to get paid... I looked at him and said I'll be back!

I didn't have any tools with me so I hit up the that was two blocks away for a ratchet, sockets, crescent wrench, and C-clamp for $30.

I broke down both packs in 15 minutes on the side walk and handed them the leaves.

30 minutes of my time (shopping / wrenching), plus $30 in tools saved about $148.

I could have returned the HF tools but I wanted a set for my car, so I kept them. :)

Hmmm ... I bought one of these, a smallish one, and it's a POS. I think I tossed it ... the jaws were horribly misaligned and the over-center mechanism didn't work.

I really enjoy those type of stories and would have liked to see the owner's face as you walked in so soon.

Everytime I do something on my Tacoma myself and have to purchase tools to do it, I look at them as free tools, with the money I saved doing it myself + the satisfaction that I took the time to do it properly and used quality parts too.

They're not great but that one sounds like a bad example.

I bought the 220lb electric hoist, I will mount on garage ceiling to assist on RTT storage and mounting.

Haha I've got one of those, too. I put a wire wheel on one side and the grinder wheel on the other. That thing has been amazing. It's got a bit of a vibe to it, but I'm not sure if that's normal or if I've just got something bolted on goofy.

I wish my garage was higher, because I could mount that above my Tacoma to remove my cap.

This may be a dumb question, and could've been answered previously in the thread and I just missed it, but where do I find the free items coupons on their website? I occasionally see them on their homepage but it's hit and miss.

I saw someone copy and past a couple in the thread earlier but no clue how to find then on their site (for when new coupons appear). I used to get them in the paper, but we cancelled our subscription a few months back.

If you submit your E-mail address to HF, you will receive coupons periodically and they usually include the free gifts. I filled out a card in store, but you may be able to fill one out online and submit it that way.

I re-signed up on their website so maybe that'll do it.

You may be on their E-mail list for the receipts, but there may be a separate list to receive the coupons, that is the only thing I can think of, so maybe tell a HF associate you want to get their coupons E-mailed to you.

Yeah, it can't hurt and that may get you on the list now.

That might be it. For anyone else wanting to, I found the spot on their site to subscribe to coupons:
