I'd go with Co2 tank. I just pulled the trigger on one.

 

Not off hand , have you tried the air on board site?

 

I have not...have been lookng at doing an arb single or twin under the hood but shopping for a cheaper option

 

I have some Stanley stuff--impact sockets, FatMax pliers, etc. It seems like pretty good quality to me. They seem to separate it out as a higher end alternative to the cheap Black and Decker tools.

 

Actually it might help. They said they want to bring a lot of the manufacturing back to the US. Their hand tools have sucked for years now. Not even close to what they used to be. The stuff Stanley currently makes is much nicer than the Craftsman tools.

 

For whatever it's worth too, Stanley owns a lot of "premium" brands and they have maintained their reputation. Mac tools, Sargent & Greenleaf safes, Best Access Systems (ever look at a store front or business lock cylinder? I'd bet there are more Best locks in institutional/commercial settings than anything else.)

 

Damn I almost bought that the other day. The only reason I didn't was because the checker said they were closing in one minute and I didn't have time to grab one.

 

Good call. It's garbage even for 33in tires. Won't last 3 tires before shutting off. Now I got 35s and it died the other day. POS.

 

Installed one in my bed too and it burnt up internally.
I concur total junk.

 

I have purchased a lot from Harbor Freight over the years....Pretty well any solid tool for light to medium use such as wrenches, ratchets, sockets, bearing/bushing driver set, pulley puller are always pretty solid tools, I have never broken one for basic garage mechanic stuff. Back when I was working for a mom and pop drilling company that was the tools our Pusher would get us and even out on a drilling rig the wrenches and stuff lasted pretty good, pretty sure they got "lost" before they ever got broken.

Some of the other stuff I have had good luck with are there full sized multi-meter, a dremel (though it did eventually die), air hammer, impact, 90 degree die grinder (also eventually died but I think that was on me from lack of greasing the head) and one of my favs to get from them are scotchbrite/sanding discs as they are much cheaper and work just as good as the expensive ones IMO.

Their large tool boxes have always caught me eye too, I have a huge craftsmen lower half that they no longer sell the top half too and have considered getting the top half from HF. If I ever have a place that is big enough to fit the whole tool box unit together then I for sure plan to get the other half.

A few of the things I can say that were crap:

Zip tie gun was absolute junk along with the motor leak down test kit. Although on the leak down tester I will say that it is good for something. I got a good 4-5 motor tests over a 3-4 period span with that thing before the gauges finally gave out on me. The nice thing about it though it you can just pick up some nice gauges, replace them and you have a decent leak down tester!

Edit: I purchased their four drawer work bench with side vice and also a motorcycle lift similar to the one craftsman sales. Both of those purchases IMO were well worth it. The bench is pretty solid, thought the drawers are kinda cheaply made and the bearings have gone out on one of the sliders.

The lift has yet to fail lifting my 700 lb harley for oil changes and general maintenance. It also has a nice safety feature built into it in the event the piston does fail. If your looking for a lift that will work with motorcylces, quads, dirtbikes, lawnmowers etc then I highly recommend picking that one up. I even use it to pick up my jetski/trailer to slide it back and forth in the garage.

 

I just received this one for Christmas. I keep it behind my rear passenger seat. I've only used it once to add air to all four of my tires. It worked great, but the pressure gauge is inaccurate.

I didn't try to put it there. Not sure if it would, but I'm kind of doubting it will. Maybe I'll have time tomorrow to give it a shot.

Today I found this Dewalt 12" Miter saw in the garbage, went to plug it in and it smoked with the bearing seized, but there is a Youtube video that shows how to replace it.

With the Dewalt Miter saw, I also found this Kobot Multi Tool, which I have been wanting for awhile and love it.

 

That's one hell of a garage find.

 

Actually it was a garbage find = free and was surprised when I took the motor apart, the bearing was made in China.

 

According to the person that repaired the Dewalt in that video, too much tension is put on the belt at the factory, causing the bearing to fail prematurely.

 

No issues with the tacoma's fuses while running it? I was skeptical to pick this up because it says the vehicle outlet needs 15 amps to run. I'm pretty sure my fuse box only says 7.5 amps for the cig lighter.
