I was there yesterday, before the sale, to get some metric combination wrenches and a metric hex key set (new HF bandsaw w/mostly metric fasteners). Almost all the spaces for the metric wrenches were empty. Still a fair amount of the SAE. Not sure why. Ended up getting a smaller set of the lowest line because the only alternative was Icon and I don't need that.

Dang it. I want this generator but the current 10% off coupon not worth it. Inside track not worth it if I can't stack. Anyone know if I can get Inside Track and stack with the current 10% off coupon to get 30%? Probably wishful thinking but I want this bad boy and can't justify paying full boat $2199 for it:

Wednesday morning a fellow coworker and I took on the task of fixing a young newbie's 2003 325i brakes. Fronts were GONE!

Anywho, my co-worker spent 10+ years as a professional Beemer mechanic, so he has a collection of Snap-On, of course.

In the process of trying to break free one of the front caliper bolts, he cracked his Snapped-On socket in two places. Very similarly to how I used to crack Crapsman sockets.

I handed him my Harbor Freight socket to finish the job on this caliper and then the other side as well. No issues came of my socket.

OK. Gonna try to not make this sound know-it-all or whatever. Y'all call me out or question it if it does. Just want to lay out what I have seen with no BS. This has to be long to convey what I've seen so sorry if it's too long (TWSS)

I worked 20 years of commercial diesel truck fleet and semi-trailer wreck rebuild. 13 years in a trailer (Great Dane) dealership rebuilding wrecks. Tons of fab work, welding, drilling etc. I have used all kinds of hand, air, electric tools and tools off of all tool trucks(Snap-on, Cornwell, Mac, Matco) as well as Chinese tools.

Anyone saying a homeowner needs tool truck quality tools for homeowner use doesn't know WTH they they're talking about. There are tool truck quality tools that are worth the money for commercial use. Mac wrenches when I was a truck mechanic because cheaper wrenches would open up the open end when really needing the properly heat treated open end to get to a hard to reach bolt.

There were NO tool truck branded air tools that were as good as CP (Chicago pneumatic) stuff I bought from outside vendors. Craftsman sockets were as good as any tool truck sockets I used. I broke the heck out of tool truck Cornwell sockets and broke box end Cornwell wrenches as well. too brittle.

I bought some Snap-on truck Blue Point wrenches once and the open end on them opened up like they were made of rubber every time I pressed them. Sprung back to size but would not loosen bolts that were really tight just snapping around them. Tool truck junk.

In the trailer shop we used air tools a lot. CP drills and air hammers, CP Impacts. Harbor Freight drills wouldn't cut it here and the CP 785 reigned supreme. I used a 20,000 RPM HF fast drill on aluminum panels and it was awesome and lasted well. I also used HF's air recip saw and loved it. Cut dozens of reefer wrecks apart with one and it broke the shaft after hundreds of hours of commercial abuse. I bought another one just like it and carried on. The one that broke owed me nothing.

I also used a big T-handle HF air grinder/buffer they sold putting a 6" wire brush on it and buffing trailer bottom rails that had rolled over and ground up sliding down the pavement. That thing was awesome. HF 1/4" air pop-riveter pulled thousands of TLRs in Thermo-Cube trailers rebuilds and was flawless.

HF orange electric grinders wouldn't last in the trailer shop but neither would Dewalts. I've used the HF orange one at home for 2 decades and it's still running strong. There is a HUGE separation between commercial use and homeowner use. Many tools that people think are "the best" wouldn't last a month in the trailer shop i worked in.

Anyways...I use a lot of HF tools and haven't been disappointed in any for homeowner use. The fact that many held up commercially says a lot about their durability and value.

    Me too!

    And the good free stuff.
I have at least a dozen of the magnetic dishes of various sizes stuck to the face of my 60 gallon air compressor. A couple in my off road trailer, and my son stole one or two from me at some point.
    All from the "free" days.

Get the ITC discount and open a credit card you can stack those. I scored mine for around $1600 OTD back when they were $2k normal price.

im fortunate that I have 3 HF within 20 mile radius of me so if one doesn’t have it one of the others usually does. I had to travel about 15 minutes extra to get the jack I wanted in blue but I guess that’s the price you pay for being picky. I’m hoping the one by me has the wrenches I want in stock, it says they do online.
