I'm assuming your 2 ton is a harbor freight pittsburg? At this point I wouldn't hold it against you if you went and bought a new one and threw the old one in the box and returned it. At this point after rebuilding it several times safe to assume an internal manufacturing error that is causing the leaks that you're not going to fix.

Anyone have experience with the 3-ton Daytona jack stands and floor jack? Will need to acquire the proper equipment soon for my suspension upgrade.

I’m using a cheap seal kit to rebuild the jack- that’s kind of the issue. The seals were advertised as hydraulic safe, but By now I’m sure they’re not. They harden after a while and don’t hold the seal.
I’m not going to steal a jack. I know some people don’t have a problem with buying new and returning the old one, but I do. I got my money’s worth out of this one so I’m good there. Just seems like a waste to toss it if all it needs is some o-rings. In the meantime I have two other jacks I can use.

The 3 ton jack stands aren’t tall enough for a lifted truck. You’ll want the 6 ton. The Daytona jack has a lot of support here with many happy buyers.

Yes. It’s a worthwhile investment if you’re going to be working on your truck in the future.

Just wait a bit. They’re phasing out the old Pittsburgh jack stands with the new Daytona version. The 6 tons should be in stores soon enough. If you have a HF nearby, you could stop in and see if they have old stock of the red Pittsburg jack stands. They might be on clearance if you’re lucky.

Ah, that’ll give me something to do on my lunch break tomorrow. There’s one nearby.

Just make sure they’re red. They previously had a silver (graphite) colored version that had a safety recall. AFAIK there shouldn’t be any of those left in stores but you never know with some places.

I was going to recommend these but they raised the price $35. They were a great deal at $55 Thanks somebody I can’t mention.

Does anyone have the Bauer rotary hammer / demolition tool of any size? I will be needing one over the next two months on and off and I’m wondering if it’s worth spending HFT price or go for the Dewalt/Bosch/Milwaukee SDS plus. Thanks

Can't remember what size mine is, but it rocks. Used it to drill a number of holes in concert and masonry, and bought a diamond point chisel to demo some mortar drippings off of a brick ledge. I've had zero issues or of it for the past two years.

Silver? I still have some old-school orange ones....although I haven't used them since the whole recall thing

So turns out that both the red and silver Pittsburgh models were recalled, they had the notice right up on the wall.

The Daytona 6 tons are coming in soon though.

I looked at the 3 ton floor jacks and they’re enormous. Do I need one that big?

Todays haul. Nothing special. Oddly I got a text about the sale yesterday, the 4th, with all coupons that had expired on the 3rd. The jack stands rang up for $39.99 when the coupon said $29.99. They gave me the sale $ on them and the other 2 items were still posted as on sale in the store. They had the Daytona jack I want in stock but it’s more of a want than a need right now so had to resist and wait for a sale. I’m going to try and hold off for a 15% off sale.
