I fucking love SLAYER. Wish they'd go on some kind of tour again but it doesn't look likely.

Dammit! I forgot to snag a couple of those trollies while I was there. That is a good deal. Finally got a second Braun LED magnetic folding light. I've had one for a few years and love it and every time I go to get a second on sale, they're always out. Today they had a small stash near an end cap because their normal spot that took up 3 rows was empty and I thought I got hosed again.

Bought a Bauer dual action buffer/sander and a bunch of foam pads. My Taco's finish is swirl free still at 6 months old but there's a layer of micro water-spotting & very light pollution in the finish that needs correction and the paint is now old enough to get on it. My new Rav4 Lunar Rock is the same but I have to wait another couple months before getting on that one. Not a huge savings on the polisher but better than a stick in the eye.

That long throw DA is a very nice machine! However if this is your first long throw it has some power and can quickly damage paint if you're not careful. It also seems to get ridiculously hot, so don't be surprised if your pads fly apart and disintegrate. I had a couple older microfiber cutting pads that fell apart pretty quickly with that machine. I took mine apart and repacked it with some better grease. Haven't tried it out to see if that cooled it down yet.

So the 6 ton jack stands I was looking at support up to about 20 inches. The 3 ton floor jack only goes up to about 15. Do I need a larger floor jack than a 3 ton for this suspension swap out?

Fixed my own problem, went with the 3-ton long reach. Chocks were on sale. Had to get the 6-ton jack stands from O’Reillys, but not a bad day all in all. Jack stand and floor jack have basically the same max around 24”.

The 3 ton jack stands might have worked but you’d be juggling everything I jacks and jack stands. Going back and forth between the two to get the wheels on and off will add time and a headache to what sounds like your first time doing a suspension install. The 6 ton stands will make your life easier and will serve you for the life of the truck.

I really appreciate the advice as there’s nothing like finding out you have the wrong tool after getting started. And this is my first go round with suspension work so I’ll take any tip to make things as smooth as possible. Will need to make another trip to HF for some 6-point sizes I don’t have yet, just need to make a list.

You planning on using a spring compressor or doing it the easy way without one?

I’d like to compress them separately because I’ll have about a week in between when I get the parts and when I can do the work. If I can assemble the coil overs in advance it’ll make the install that much easier.

I've had the baby one gallon version (so not really the same one, but same line I guess?) for about 2.5 years now, works great, weirdly quiet. Only issue I've had is I had to adjust the pressure shutoff switch. It would build to like 130 and then just keep trying to compress more and just heat up instead of shutting off automatically. Easy fix though, take off the cover and adjust a screw.

Their owner and founder is an amazing guy. He started a small business and pours every dime he can back into redesigning and improving the tools and paying his employees a good salary. I will support them 100 out of 100 times. They actually take feedback and redesign tools and are constantly improving. The impact stuff, most air tools, and Jack stands are all too notch. Even the little telescoping magnets for a dollar are great and will get you out of a jam.

I have had my teenagers pick out their own tool sets there and they have kept track of them and not broken anything. The welders are even good quality for about half the price. I used to call them “harbor fright”, up until I used their tools and one Ryobi impact wrench to rebuild a mustang and everything worked great.

Appreciate the advice. It IS my first but I can appreciate how fast things go to shit as I'm coming of some seriously old school variable speed non-DA polisher! Before I do anything with this gear, I'm going to sponge heavily on advice and how-to's anywhere I can get the info. I have a pretty solid understanding of what goes on but it's NOT my profession so I'm open to learn as much as I can.

I'm a little pissed because I took my new Lunar Rock RAV to a guy I have been riding motors with for a long time and always wanted to throw some business his way. He has been doing this for a living in a brick & mortar location for many years so when I saw him, we decided to wait a couple months for paint cure on the RAV since it was JUST born and shipped out here. I called him to jump on my TRD and do the correction and seal and maybe later, do a ceramic treatment but I can't get him to return a call to get me on his schedule. I can do this. I just have to study and I have a 24 y/o Ranger with great paint still to practice on....just in case!
