Saw that. Got a text and saw it on their insta. Trying to decide if I’m gonna bite or wait for 15% off. This is 8% off. I don’t “need” it so I could wait, but otoh another $15 won’t change my life.

Keep waiting, and 6 months down the line you realize it will never get to the price you want.

Truth. I waited for a sale to get this tubing roller and it’s currently at $229. It was going for $159 when I was indecisive.

Only time I will wait for prices to go down, is leading up to Black Friday. Or if I just can't afford it.

I took a gamble, and lost.
I knew better than buy this amp/meter

Looking for something to diagnose automotive DC amperage without having to do the old inline test.

This thing always defaults to -1.1 to -1.3 amp
You can zero it, but if you move it at all, it jumps between .2A -.04. .Good luck using it do diagnose any parasitic draws.

The AC side also climbs to .21A no matter what you do. It starts at .03 amp and climbs until it reaches .21A
I tested my other AC clamp and it works just fine. So it’s not electrical interference related.

    There went $100

I was thinking I had a good shot with a Memorial Day sale but if this item is on sale now it probably won’t be then. Probably go grab it Friday.

Wow, thanks! I'm gonna look around for one now.

Ironic that last year the "regular" price for the generator was $1999 and now that's the "sale" price.

But... with the prospect of brownouts/rolling blackouts this summer in SoCA I am of the mindset that I need to be prepared.

So I have question for the masses.....has anyone had experience with a tool like this or this exact one? I know it is a newer tool to HF but hoping someone has tried it. And if you had used one before, do you think it would work well to strip paint and rust from a old highway sign trailer?

Hey Jared. I used the Eastwood version of that years ago and was pleasantly surprised with it. I’d imagine the Bauer version is on par based on my experience with their other tools. Far less abrasive than an angle grinder so you don’t have to worry about digging into or gouging the base material and much. Does a great job of stripping surface rust and loose paint as well. Just make sure to let the tool do the work and don’t lean into it to much. It’ll extend the life of the abrasives and keep you chugging along.

Thank you for posting this. I was on the fence on grabbing it. I think I'll wait until a Fluke unit pops up on market place.

I bought a southwire in an emergency situation when I was on a job site about 8 years ago. (Left my flukeclamp meter at the office only had my process meter) to this day the $89 I spent on that meter has saved me a lot of hassle arguing with people about amp draw, especially when I have two meters telling me the same numbers! I would highly recommend for home use or light commercial. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Southwire-Digital-600-Volt-Test-Meter/1001002506

i don’t trust HF when you need a calibrated or precise device. Sometimes you need a blunt object, and HF is great at providing those. For a nice meter get a fluke 325.

I hard wired like back into the house so not sure on panels. I’d say you can’t go wrong with a higher end name like Siemens or Generac though. Stay away from something cheap for a product that you’re relying upon in an emergency!
