Finally got to use my new Daytona. Worked great. I didn't realize that when you pull the poll out of the jack, the receiver rotates up. There was no way to get the poll back in, as the receiver, positioned under the car, was now pointed straight up. I tried everything to rotate that damn thing back down but couldn't. Ended up digging out an old, tiny jack and a block to put under it to lift the car enough to roll the Daytona out. Won't make that mistake again.

Interesting, never even thought about removing the handle while in use. Now I know definitely don’t remove it

I wasn't paying attention while I was walking around and almost tripped on the handle. "Hey, why don't I just remove it so I won't fall?" I thought. Did not think that through...

I've been using cheap Wolf brand jack and jack stands but wanted to upgrade. I got the Daytona jack a few months ago, in metal flake red, but have been waiting for a sale on the stands. Today was that day. Not sure why they don't have jack stands in red? Just about everything else they make comes in red. Haven't used them yet, but they are beefy, especially compared to my old ones.

I own the snap on version of both of these and they are great, especially when your working in a limited space area such as under the dash.

Anybody have input on which HF heat gun to go with? I will be going corded so it looks like the decision is between Bauer and Hercules (I won't go the super cheap route of the 11 amp Warrior).

I like the Hercules brand. They have a 5 year warranty that you don't have to buy.

I have the Bauer corded. It's been great so far. Lots of temp adjustability, which is nice.

Sweet! Good to know the cheaper one is working for you.

I'm mostly going to be using it to remove tint from a window and removing some door guards on a new used truck I picked up.

I have had the warrior for a decade. I don't use it too often, naybe once ir twice a year, but have never had a single issue with it!

Well heck, maybe I'll go with the warrior and see if it gets the job done. Worst case, it breaks and I return it :)

I have the same exact set from Capri, or something like that, and they are a HUGE help when working in small car engine bays.

have you seen the garbage bag method? might be worth a shot. i removed some tint a couple years ago by just peeling it (it was peeling anyway) and it was a PITA to get that glue off.

I did the brakes on my 4runner the other week and it would have been a huge help then. I needed an extra half an inch to slide my impact wrench in there to get a caliper bolt off, but couldn't quite fit, instead had to do a comical series of extensions to get around other parts.

Thanks for sharing that! I wasn't aware of this method. Not sure when it'll be warm enough here to try it but maybe I can help it along with the heat gun :p

I will second this. It works just fine for everything I have used it for.
