I have their Bauer impact driver, drill, angle grinder, hand held router, and drill press. The only thing thats slightly meh is the drill press, it's loud and and sounds rough but cuts straight without issue. Batteries don't last as long as my Milwaukee stuff, but they charge fast and since batteries are cheap I have a few of them to just swap out.

I also recently picked up a Central Machinery metal saw. It has been invaluable while building my DIY wedge RTT topper. Build quality is obviously lacking, but it works great, cuts true and didn't break the bank.

I have zero issues buying things from HF, but I also pick and choose what I'll get from there. If there is a large safety factor involved I'll probably look elsewhere.

Plenty of Snap On tools(Not Bluepoint) are made in China, too. Learned about that 15 years ago.

You know that the phone/computer your using to post on TW was probably made in China right?

I thought I’d found a battery powered sprayer finally, but then I priced a battery and charger. Cheaper for me to stick with a Ryobi.

Sorry, didn't mean to open old wounds, I didn't read the previous 432 pages. :D

I must admit I've been in a bit of a tool limbo the past few decades. Most of my tools I bought when I was young- in the 70's and 80's (mostly craftsman). Then my career took me to New York City for a couple of decades where I didn't own a vehicle and my tools were stored away. I just retired a couple of years ago and am now looking at some additional tools and now realizing how hard it is to get US made stuff.

I disperse camp a lot in very remote areas and have wanted to get a battery jump pack, but I can't find any that are not made in China. Do I risk getting stranded in buttfuck Egypt, or hold my nose and purchase a Chinese jump pack?? Frustrating.

Ha Ha... now I feel even worse. :D

The irony of ironies of course is that I own and am posting on a Japanese (San Antonio really?) truck thread. :D

Back in 2013, I had a year to research light duty trucks; I would've liked to purchase a US truck, but the 2TR-FE seemed to be the most reliable light duty truck engine on the planet.

    cheers all, :D

I need a new set of impact sockets.

Does anyone have 3/8" drive sockets from HF?

I have the 1/2" version, but I want the 3/8" version for my RV bug out bag of tools.

One or two things modded... Check out the build thread
Had a set since 2010 or so. All look brand new still except for one that got covered in dirt on one of the last uses and it seems to always get skipped when I'm using the gunk cleaning towels...

Just curious, what was politics? Literally everything I read was fact. I've kind of combed it over and don't understand what isn't factual?

I really beat the tar out of my socket set and not a single one has broken, so for what I paid I'm over the moon.

Just placing a small emphasis on it.

The last time the argument was made about Chinese this or that had others bringing up the economy, politics, and more.

This time around it was much more civil, although it could be due to the specific members partaking in the conversation or the mere mentioning of politics (to refrain from it) that prevented certain other members from posting.

Nothing in my post stated that something mentioned earlier wasn't factual so not sure what you're getting at.

Feel free to PM me if my posts here have upset you.
