From my experience, about the time you finally get rid of something you don't use it will be followed shortly by a time you need it.

I am pretty sure these are the same as the Husky boxes at Home Depot. And they are like $358 there. These are pretty light duty though. The one that is 25” deep, the husky is an extremely good value and well built. Though it cost twice as much. I would get a US General over this option.
Your friend has shared a link to a Home Depot product they think you would be interested in seeing.

Yes, I had a $300 brand new Craftsman blow the hyd seal the first time I used it. I was just picking up the front corner of a Honda Accord. My old orange $50 HF floor jack lifted it and I have been using it ever since. As far as stands I never use the ratcheting one just the solid ones.

It’s hard to beat the 3.5 ton floor jack from Napa. You can catch them on sale for $260ish.
I do have the little aluminum HF 1.5 ton that I keep in my toolbox in the truck because it is far superior to an OEM jack. But, I typically don’t trust HF jacks or stands. That said. Probably more Daytona jacks floating around shops than anything else.

I've had the Daton 3 ton long reach low profile jack for about 4 years now. Other than being heavy, no complaints or issues. Prior to that I had a Torin Big Red that broke at the universal joint near the base of the handle.
I also have the 6 ton jack stands. If you get jack stands, I'd recommend the 6 ton over the 3. Aside from being taller and stouter they have a metal foot pad at the base where the 3 tons are just the edge of the metal and would gouge my asphalt driveway.
HF had a jack stand recall a few years ago so they're probably extra vigilant about the stands now.

6 tons are the way to go. The extra lift height over the 3 tons is worth the cost. Feels safer not having the stands at full extension.

Yes, the 3 tons looks like a toy compared to the 6. IMG_3046.jpg

or you could get these …

I got them as a gag gift with some real tools from my in-laws and they’ve come in handy when watching YouTube how to vids while doing the task.

I have owned my set if the low profile sockets for about 9 months now. I can not tell you how many jams those things got me out of. When we do our monthly "mods meets" in MA, many people have were jealous of them and after using them, went and bought ones of their own. Those and a 22 mm rachet wrench (that those take and use, are a staple in my toolbox.

Tried it, had issues, did what I could to solve the "air leaking into the brake line under vacuum" situation and ended up bleeding my brakes with a second person.

Get your significant other, your child, your neighbor, anyone.

I have it, no issues with the bleeding part. I don’t use the auto refill anymore after an unfortunate incident with a lot of spilled brake fluid. Use it on my 4runner and a few motorcycles.

It’s really handy for quick 1 person bleeding, but I wouldn’t pay full price for it (or anything at HF, really). Make sure your compressor can keep up with it, too.

    4 run, 2 don't
Used a Yakima bike rack for the longest time until I switched to suction cups

Granted I didn't do any real off road with the hitch when it was on the Frontier, but it was nice and tight especially at high speeds when it was on the ST

Would buy one again if I still rode

To be honest I don’t ride much. Just along the beach mostly on paved paths. Just thinking of a cheap option to bring my and the lady’s bikes to a national park or something

I picked up a set of Daytona 6 tons on sale this summer. Wish I had gotten them years ago. The 3 tons Ive had for ages are solid, but not quite high enough for the truck. Always used solid 4x4 cribbing under them which worked well. But less pieces = less hassle and less chance for something to go wrong.

I did notice there are (at least earlier this summer) two different UPC's for each color. The overall dimensions and also the casting of the center column & saddle were slightly different
