My experience with any of their bits or saw blades has not been favorable. They dull quickly and/or break easily. I have NOT purchased any from them in the last 10+ years so it's possible my experience is somewhat "out of date".

Unless you're doing a lot of welding you might want to stick to the smaller spools. Last time I was in the local welding supply place I was about to buy a larger spool and the guy recommended the smaller one after I mentioned I wasn't getting as smooth a feed. They sell Millers and he pulled up this page to show me.

Electrode Wire: Exposed to moisture in the air or environment, welding wire not used for a period of time can develop an oxide layer. If feeding or arc instability problems occur after changing wire, examine the spool to make sure the wire is in good condition. If you’re not planning on using a spool of wire immediately, make sure to store it in a plastic bag in a dry environment, preferably with small packages of desiccant.

Wire feeding issues can affect performance; good welds require a consistent wire feed supply. One way to test if wire is feeding smoothly is to feed wire against a block of wood and watch for continuous smooth wire coil up, which implies there is no obstruction to wire feed. If the wire does not coil smoothly, there is a problem somewhere in the wire feed process.
    https://www.millerwelds.com/resources/article-library/troubleshooting-mig-before-and-after-you-weld
Just something to keep in mind.

Has anyone tried their OmniPro multiprocess welder yet? It looks like a cheap way to get a tig setup if you don't need to do heavy stuff.

I have one of their smaller socket sets, I bought it because my ‘real’ set was in storage. I’ve ended up using the HF set instead since then.

Anybody have any experience with the Bauer lineup? I'm looking at the $59.99 drill/driver to give as a gift. :D Lmao

I did end up buying the 8750 generator. I am still breaking it in but I do like it so far. We shall see how it holds up. I have heard very good things about the predator engines in general though.

I’m rebuilding a 1978-9(not exactly sure) snapper riding mower. What’s the best tool for sanding, scraping, sand blasting and so on... how would y’all approach removing rust on the entire rig, mowing deck, frame, etc

If I were to attack it, I'd go with an air needle scaler, depending how bad it is, and also an angle grinder with a flap disc or wire wheel. Or something with a sand blaster, but you'd have to do it in smaller chunks because I doubt that air compressor could handle running 100% of the time.

    I’ll definitely p/u an air needle scaler.:hattip:

Do you know much about the different sand blasters? There are a couple different media options - sand, beads, glass, shells...:notsure:

I haven't a freaking clue. Also keep in mind I've never done a project like that before, but that's just the route I'd take. Take that for what it's worth :D

I tried the HF blaster. It was a pain. It lives in my scrap pile.

Take the mower to someone that does blasting. It will be cheaper and quicker.

That’s probably not a bad idea, I’ll call around and price it.
