Whatever you get, I'd recommend a Pop n Lock or something similar as an accessory! Once I paid $$ for a cover, it was a little concerning realizing somebody could take it within 2 minutes.

Yes. A latch on both sides hooks onto the rails.

    OP,

The Tonnopro that you are looking at, or the Extang SolidFold will be your best options. Neither impact your factory track system more than a small clip at each end to mount the cover to.

The Bakflip/Undercover Flex style is nice, but you sacrifice the cargo rail completely.

Ultimately, I sell all of the above brands. Please get in touch, I would be happy to quote you prices.

can't wait for the truck bed to be full of snow haha

do you guys think i'd regret getting the $250 cheaper TonnoPro hard fold cover instead of the extang solid fold? seems like the main difference is the single layer of aluminum. not sure how much better the thicker extang is other than the 10 lbs.

What's the differences between the different BakFlip hard fold tonneau covers? Should I go with the F1, HD, or G2? Thanks.

Another vote for the Elite G4 here. I added an electric Pop N Lock that unlocks with my key fob.

Looks great sandjunkie! After a lot of research and changing my mind, I think that this seems like the best setup as well. Couple of questions though: Did you have the same gap issues as Tacoman82 talks about here? Also how do you like the auto pop n lock? How was the install? Do you have to wire up to the door locks to get the auto lock working? Do you think it will work well in the long term?

    Thanks!

No gap issues. Electric Pop N Lock is great. Both were easy to install. Tapped into the wire that controls the passenger door lock/unlock. I don't see any problems long term. If there is a problem with the pop n lock or the tonneau cover, I can get access to the bed one way or the other to fix the problem. I did not install the tailgate loop for this reason.

since the truck's brand new, i shoveled all the snow out of the truck bed. i also wiped all the snow off of the tires inside and out.

good feedback. it's still a toss up for me between the G4 and Extang solid fold.

The gap issue will be with everyone installing the G4 elite. The issue comes from the front of the bed and the tailgate being lower than the side bed rails. Look at the pictures in the post that you mentioned. Ask TAOScott about it. The Cover comes with some molding that hides the gaps with flexible rubber almost like an oversized wiper blade. I am not saying don't get it but just be aware of the gap at front and rear of cover.
I appreciate the accessability of the cover just wish they would have addressed the gap at front and rear better.
Don't know about the other covers because I don't have or install them. That is why I suggest you ask TAOScott about it.

This is correct. The post that was linked mentions a 1.75 inch gap. It's no where near that big. Maybe 1/2 inch. The molding takes care of it. The cover has been water tight and is the most secure out of any of the covers I have seen. It can be accessed front or rear and the tie down rails can still be used. By far all of this together beats any of the other covers out there. The only other cover I would have considered is the extang solid fold. I don't know how they addressed the tailgate being lower than the rails.

I have no problems with my solid fold and the tailgate. I just wish the damn thing was water proof.

That's pretty sweet but the only concern I would have is the durability of the vinyl covering. I would imagine it's pretty tough but I guess I'm a little skeptical since I haven't seen one in person. I'm definitely going to check this out; I like it.

There are 5 Bakflip covers. In order of features/durability, good to best.

VP - 1yr warranty, 1/2" aluminum panels, vinyl covered
    G2 - 1yr warranty, 1/2" aluminum panels, powdercoated, 300lbs cap
HD - 2yr warranty, 5/8" aluminum panels, powdercoated, 400lbs cap
Fibermax - 2yr warranty, 1/2" FRP plastic top, aluminum bottom, 400lbs cap
    F1 - 3yr warranty, 1/2" FRP plastic top, aluminum bottom, 500lbs cap

The Roll-X carries a 1 yr warranty. If the vinyl is properly cared for, there is no reason that it should not last for years.
