That pole did add an interesting perspective, Guy. Might need to revisit it with something a little sturdier for sure.

Nah, except for fixing the brake light I had out I haven't touched it. I have some kid free time on Sunday, maybe I'll blow it apart then.

Gopro pole v.2 is mostly designed in my head. I would like to be able to easily more it around the truck too, maybe with a spring loaded detent mount.

 

kinda like a cb antenna mount, just with a stiffer spring

 

Well it's not the drivers side Birf. I have to pop the hub off and check that, but that wouldn't cause a steering issue. I'm going to take the passenger side apart too, bet that's where I find the problem.

yeah it is deff your pass side. your pass side wheel was wedged down in a hole and when i heard the pop it was your drivers side that started to spin.

 

The cage on the passenger side Birfield was in about 8 pieces, it took out the axel seal too. I replaced the seal and just need to find a stock Birfield to put it back together or find a deal on some Longfields.

So RCV 30 spline would be the best, great warranty and very strong. They built the axles Longfield sold, 612 bucks.

Trail gear 30 spline axles with the Longfield name, there seems to be questions as to the quality now that TG bought Longfield, still great warranty and they come with chromoly hub gears and drive flanges 599 bucks. I could recoup a little selling the flanges and inner chromoly gears, I already have them.

Lastly 27 spline Longfields sold by Trail gear, great warranty, no extras and the same possible issues as the 30 splines, 349 bucks.

All of them have a no BS warranty without tire size restrictions. I have enough $ in my toy fund for the 27 spline today.

It still astounds me that you broke a birf only running 33s. Had to be some kind of fluke.

Davez offroad has RCV 30 spline for 580 after 10% off, if he'll combine that with the free shipping listed in his signature on Pirate I'm going to pull the trigger.

If I can't get them with free shipping I'll get the 27 spline Longfields from Frontier 4x4 for 349 shipped.

I'll still need a stocker so I can have a long side and short side spare, for when I start doing out of state trips.

I guess, but I still gotta believe it was some sort of fluke. Like when my old man popped a knuckle ujoint in a brand-new F150 Dana 44TTB LSD on stock tires. No way that shoulda happened either.
