We are ready to replace my wifes 2000 SR5 4wd with a new 2016 SR5, 4wd, 4dr, long bed in grey. After searching several dealers in the Southwest I am told this truck does not exist. We are in the San Diego area and are willing to drive within a few hundred miles to pick one up. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to search for this truck? It seems that if the dealer doesn't have one on his or her lot they are not going to help you find one. Thanks

Our local dealer put our name in for an allotment? They are supposed to get back to us to let us know if and when they will get in. We havent heard from them in two weeks. We were told that we can't just order one.

They can get a TRD Sport for 40,200 OTD but we are trying to keep the cost down.

Ha I know- I was joking. For what it is worth- I really like my SR5. I think it was worth the 2-3 grand I saved- considering I don't do any off-roading. I got mine for 32k with a wheel upgrade. I could have gotten a TRD OR for about 35k but I hated the white paint with orange interior on the one they had that deal on. Other than that, there was an SR5 in another corner of AR with the TSS package for 35k. That was it for the whole state as far as 4x4DCSB's.

They are rare. We only found one so far in central Ca. with red stitch interior, we are willing to wait for one with the dark interior.

My dealer didn't have what I was looking for either, however they were able to look at what was coming into port and "claim" my truck to be shipped to their dealership once it arrived. I gave them a $500 deposit and it took about 2 weeks to get.

We plan on visiting relatives in the Tampa Bay area in a few weeks, I have been looking at the inventory in Orlando and Tampa. They don't have what I'm looking for in stock but I could try to set it up to fly out one way and drive it back. It should be cheaper there anyway. Is there a dealer you would recommend?

I bought mine through Autonation Toyota Pinellas Park in St Petersburg, FL. It was a pretty easy/painless process and my sales guy (Richard Ruiz) was great to work with (very low pressure/easy going).

Good luck finding one man, I love mine. Dealer did say DCLB SR5 was rare, but I take what they say with a grain of salt.

I can believe it. I've been checking all over and haven't found a long bed yet.

Pretty sure (95%) that all US Tacomas come from Baja or San Antonio. Don't think they ship em to ports, maybe marshalling yards.

You cant buy a new vehicle and bring it in to Calif, unless it is a 50 state certified (some Harleys are Ca certified in other states), or it has to have 7500 miles on it at the time of sale when the mileage is recorded.

    Any updates?

The truck you are looking for does exist. I have an SR5 DCLB 4x4 in MGM. Just find a dealer willing to work with you. Good luck.

(PS. Yes it is an SR5, I just traded hoods with a TRD Sport.)
(PPS. I bought it in the SouthEast and it has Optional Equipment Code "FE 50 State Emissions."

There are tons of them in South Florida, it is impossible to find TRDs down here. One of my local dealers has one in orange 4x4 SR5 longbed.
