This is what happened to my drive shaft on Trail 13 last trip.....


Hence I bought this to take on the tough trails....

But I still want to go...and maybe ride shotgun on the Trail 13 run this time...

And, I do have firewood.....

 

ya i got a qustton u think i can pull a car trailer with the xj on in with out over heating

 

a regular small car trailer and xj should be fine...i would recommend having electric brakes on truck and trailer for stoping and dont floor it up hills..just go easy and she'll be fine....

 

dont load the xj on a 3000lbs landscaping trailer though lol....the aluminum uhaul ones are great cause there so light and like 50 bucks for the weekend....one of our other members use to tow his first gen taco on one of those

 

ok i have the towing pack so i got a tran cooler the car trailer ways 2000 and iam going to way the xj tomorow

It was my bad for following the line into trail 13 the last time...first I didn't recognize it (the trailhead)...then I thought maybe there would be a bypass trail....I was about 1/3 way in when the damage occurred and turned around and drove out...

 

think my truck was telling me not to come to rausch...ripped a cv boot up pretty bad so its in the shop getting a new boot and whatever else damage was done. Have no idea how it happened. But there wasnt much boot left ha.

Once i get her back im gonna do the CV boot slide mod just to give the fins a lil more room.

 

from what i remember 885's with billys @ 2.5 was not recommended

hmmm...well maybe with the long hours at work being over with i can rip it apart again soon and put it down a notch. that thought crossed my mind when i saw it.

 

are u really running billys at 2.5 with 885's? thats a no no

 

talked to treadwright today 315's will be shipping first thing 2mro morning should be here for friday..

 

no there great thats what i run.....had billys with 885's and 1/2in toytec spacers then with the winch i switched to 886's with spacer but i set them at 0.....885's with billys,you should set billys at .85 lift for 2.5in-3in lift and decent ride.....
at 2.5in lift with 885's thats makings for broken cv's and shitty ride

 

885/886 springs are meant to give lift with stock shock. Bilstein at 2.5 is meant to give lift with stock spring. He is double lifted now.

 

thats why his cv went.......if he has not top plate spacer pull the coilovers apart set the billys at the 1st notch above the "stock" height one which is the lowest (bottom=stock,1st=.85in,2nd=1.75,3rd=2.5) set him at .85 on the billys with 885's and no top plate spacer....and do the cv boot slide mod deff 100%.....

 

well now we know why you broke the spring compressors as well

yea..im hapy with mine also...sure arent no icon mid travels but they hold there own

 

i got kings and im ready to buy some ome 's and sell these before they are completly wasted
on that note i must remember to call king
f ing bolts on shocks are all rusting away to shit.....
spend this much money think they would use good hardware but nope....
