I find that I hardly use my Verizon wifi hotspot device since I always use my cellphone as a hotspot. Has anyone here hardwired a hotspot device and configured Entune to use it's data for Pandora, iHeart, etc.? Don't know if it's even possible since you need the Entune app on your phone, so just checking, especially now that Verizon has unlimited data offerings....gotta take advantage of it.

why bother when you can just use the data on your phone that shares the same data plan? You don't have to hotspot it. When you log into the Entune app on your phone and connect your phone via bluetooth, it shares data to the headunit.

Well the jetpacks can also tether via usb if need be. I'm just wondering if there's a way for Entune to connect to it and use it's data. I'm thinking a phone will still be needed since I think you have to use the Entune app.

I get it. But I kinda like the idea of it being online but phone independent.

I could be wrong, but I don't think the JetPacks are unlimited data, nor is tethering from a phone.

I'm potentially buying a house in a very rural area (no cable, fiber, DSL) so I looked at all the carriers for that and none offered it. Looking at all of them was a bit of a moot point because AT&T is the only one with usable service there anyway, but I figured if one offered it I could put a big antenna on the roof and see if I could repeat their signal.

Tethering may be limited, but if you use the Entune app and connect via bluetooth, it doesn't count as tethered data.

Verizon started offering unlimited data across all your devices. I had their XL data plan and switched on Tuesday.

Huh, everything I read said unlimited on everything except when you tether you get a 10 GB limit.

If they do that, AT&T will probably follow suit which is good for me. Verizon service is really spotty around here.

I read that too when I switched. But the entune app shouldn't be tethering in the traditional sense.

I don't think a jetpack would work since you would have to somehow get the device (radio) configured to connect to the wifi signal. What may work is a second device that connects to entune and that device connect to the jetpack.

Am a Verizon employee. Jetpack is unlimited, however, after 10GB your speed is limited to 3G
