Hello I’m hardwiring a dash cam to my 2023 Tacoma SR and was wondering which fuse would be best for constant fuse slot and ACC fuse slot. Can I use the empty slots?

There is a very much easier way to do it! Get yourself a DONGLE! It plugs into the back of the rear view mirror into the power outlet. It then lets you plug the mirror power cord back in and offers another USB port to plug your dash cam, or whatever else, into it. No wires hanging down and it is super easy and cheap! I just got the link which I will post below, but i see they have raised the price a lot! Once you see it though, do a google search and you can probably get it cheaper somewhere. But it is a cool thing, so simple and it works! https://www.amazon.com/Dongar-Technologies-Adapter-12-pin-Generation/dp/B07DMW3DML

I just learned that not all models of Tacomas have this plug in their rear view mirror! Sorry about that! But for those who do have it, this dongle is great! I mounted my dash camera on the windshield in the area where it comes with "shading". Standing outside the truck, you can't even see the camera so i really like it, and no wires hanging down! But sorry, I didn't know about SRs and other models. I really thought that would be standard by now!

The dongle only works if he has the connection in the mirror- SR nd some SR5 don't have them. Since he has a SR he has to hard wire it in.
Haz 15a third from the botto right siedis iempty and will give constent power while the P/outlet NO1 15aa third from the top left is switched

any empty slot in the under dash fuse box that has 12v should work

So do I use a fuse tap because right now it’s just a wire. And if so what amp do I use for both fuses?

No it didn’t come with any instructions. That’s why it’s annoying

I just did one using a fuse adaptor and used the 5 amp one from the top left down 5 slots . Turns off with key . Anyone that turns off when your turn the ignition off should work Z dash cam shouldn’t need more then a 5 amp fuse .
