    Hey all you Fine Tacomers,
    Is there a

    Harmonic Balancer Installer for my 2001 Tacoma 3.4L V6 5VZ-FE?
    :confused::help::notsure:

    I tried renting one from O'Reilly's and was told it didn't at all work/fit/was right one...
    And apparently had to order a new harmonic balancer/Crankshaft pulley, due to original being damaged.
    Any feedback?
    Thanks!
    -Lisa

    The new harmonic balancer should just slide on, I’ve pulled and reinstalled several and never needed a tool to pull or install one. Just make sure that there are no burrs on the crank or the inside bore of the balancer itself before install.

    Awesome thanks for the info Floridaze! We'll see how it goes. This is what the original looked like... :facepalm:

    just wanted to mention that my balancer (04 V6 3.4 ) came off and was put on by hand. I was was shocked at how far the balancer goes on. Not too much at all. I hope you are not thinking it needs to be pushed onto the front of the crank more than it does.

    You’re welcome, I don’t think I’ve ever seen one do that, but I guess there’s a first time for everything

    I just got done doing my timing belt on my 5vz and noticed more crank wobble on the balancer then there should be so I tore it all back apart and saw nothing but this small mark on the balanced? Think it’s big enough to be the culprit and order a new oner? Would you go oem or aftermarket aluminum like lce which is same price

    Mine just slid on, I don't remember having any issues with it.
    Just remember to put some oil on were it slides into the seal.
    Also, use a new bolt and have fun with that.

    Yea but it was on the mating service and at 215+ ft points that little ding prolly made a difference. I three am lce lightweight on it since these are internally balanced I see no reason not to. Cheaper and lighter actually runs smoother than before
