harmonic balancer

    I am replacing harmonic balancer on my 2002tacoma pre runner 2.7. Got the bolt out and when I pulled the pully off it fell on the ground, and the keyway in the balancer was empty. When I bought the balancer it had a woodruff key with it. M problem is there id no slot for the key to go into on the crankshaft nose.where does it go?
    and when I find out where it goes, how do I line up the timing marks . do both go to zero?
