Just installed a new front clamshell with new gears and a harrop e locker from ECGS and the locker in testing and I can not get the locker to engage. The truck drives fine but locker has not kicked in.

I have it wired directly to a switch pro instead of the wiring harness which should be ok but curious if there is an issue there.

Anyone have one wired to a switch pro? Or if there are any ideas on checking the wiring before I have to break down the clamshell to see if there is something else.

ECGS said they test them before they send them out. I am stumped on what to check next.

Start by checking for voltage or ground (however it's supposed to be switched) at the harness on the locker.

Its coming from the switch pro voltage is fine. ECGS suggested checking the connector at the clamshell as it may be damaged but it was top notch. Ohm reading seemed good. I am going to double check all of it again just to be sure.

Ended up being ok. Really takes almost a full turn to engage so the test measure they tell you to do was not enough. Finally gave it a test on the ground and the locker was fighting back. but ECGS did say they had a few connectors that were bad and needed to be replaced or crimped together.

did you ever get it to engage before? When turning either way your not getting any pushback?

I opened the plug measured the volts it read zero so I started working backwards. I did not use the wire harness they provided because I have an aux fuse box. So the wire that was going to the fuse box was not all the way plugged in.

Glad to hear you figured it out and it was a fairly simple thing.

I have no doubt about that but situations like this is why I like the Harrop locker. If it's not working then the fix is usually something very simple that can most likely be fixed on the trail/camp site.

I didnt even think that the wire was out of the plug. Easier then if it was an arb with all the air hoses

I need a good way of testing. It doesn't appear to be working for me. I had it on a lift, I did the rear tires off the ground spin test (opposite directions, but if engaged same direction) and it didnt appear to be working.

yah that was the same with me too. thats not going to be a good way. Put it back on the ground and fire it up. slowly drive and turn the wheel you should feel push back and pretty good push back. dont be afraid to turn. Basically the second test they ask you to do. For the life of me I could not get the first test to work.

I have a Sport, and I'm referring to my rear locker with Harrop. I tried spinning the wheels to no avail. I need to test ground next as I'm in the midst of doing all my electrical testing. Everything seems OK. Once that's done, I want to test it somehow on the ground. I don't have my jackstands at the moment.
