    Hi Folks!

Back with an ongoing problem that's gotten WAY worse. But I have more info for y'all to chew on.

My truck info is in my profile over there on the left.

Basically, whenever I let off the accelerator pedal, the truck jerks back really harsh, like a rearing horse or something. And after that, if I depress the pedal it hesitates and then jerks once more before accelerating. This happens even if I am gentle as can be with the pedal.

If I unplug the connection to the TPS, the problem goes away. BUT i got a new TPS and the problem persists. So, I am thinking three things:

    1) a problem with the TPS wiring.

    2) a problem with the throttle plate that is sending bad info to the ECU via the TPS. So maybe an adjustment is needed.

    3) maybe the dishpot? I don't really know what the thing does. Some folks say its there to keep the throttle from slamming shut, which is what it feels like is happening. Other folks say its just there for emissions purposes, and really only keeps the throttle open for a fraction of a second longer.

What do y'all think? do you have any thoughts on what could be the problem? do you need any more info?

    Thanks for all your help!

VintageFast: at the very least, I am taking it to my mechanic on Friday if I can't figure it out by then. If no one responds here, I'll let you know what my mechanic says.

seriously, though. If giving my truck an HJ will solve this problem, at this point I'd do just about anything.

Axle wrap. Muther fuggin axle wrap.

So, was I just describing it wrong? Did the talk about the throttle and TPS throw people off? Should I have said "clunk" instead of "jerk"?

Cuz apparently this is a well known problem with Tacos and I'm surprised nobody said anything! :)

Axle wrap is common but I have what I think is a fuel system situation/hesitation.

Have you changed your fuel filter?
