Quick question. I had the TSB done last week. I look at it and still see only 3 leafs. I thought the TSB was supposed to have 4?? They did put new leafs on but I wonder if they used the wrong parts. I will take a pic after work and post it up.

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
check and make sure the new part numbers on the TSB match what went on ur truck...people were having issues like this in the beginning w/ dealers ordering the old part #'s or the old parts coming in new boxes and the dealer installing anyways

My rig is a certified '07 that had 47K when I bought it, 50K on it when I found out about the TSB and when I tried a load. With 400 lbs. of Watersoftener salt and another 200 or so of tools, etc. I had about 1.5" above the rubber bumper, and a speed bump definitely jolted the frame. I asked and was denied, so went with as AAL, short spring, Maybe 24" long, professionally installed $210. Gained 1 7/8 inches at the trailer hitch reciever. Smoother ride with my tools only, and have about 3.5" above the rubber bumpers. Haven't tried more load or trailer yet but fairly confident that this will be good to go. Not hard to install yourself, I'm sure, I was charged two hours shop time. (Of Course, they have a lift, lots of ready tools, and do this all day!) Good luck.

I had a 95 that had a TSB on the rear springs. I didn't find out until I had 80,000 miles and 2 cracked bottom (helper) springs. The dealer offer me the same deal. It cost me $450 about half the cost. I put another 100,000 trouble free miles on that truck. I'd go for it!

Yep, they didn't read the TSB, same thing happened to me (except it was the shocks not the leafs) because they just went off of the part #'s in the computer, instead of ordering the part #'s listed on the TSB... Had to get Toyota involved but got it fixed eventually...

Where do you live? Service departments around here are the lifeblood of most dealerships due to slow auto sales and the low profits on new units sold. The dealership wants your service dollars.

Well I looked at all my paper work and it turns out that they put new springs on but they were the same part no. they took off. Apparently not real familiar with reading a tsb. They ordered the correct parts today. They better provide me a rental when I take the truck back in. What a pain.

yes, got it done. yellow sticker disappeared before i started process.
Dealer was a asshole about doing it. had to go through the service dept manager, customer service manager, call the 1-800 number and get a claim #, back through the managers again. they wanted me to do the "put weight in your truck to inspect routine", told them i wasn't going to waste my time or money for a known problem that already has a TSB. Finally got them to see it my way, never going back to them again.

good to see they at least admitted fault. i've had mine since last july and it came out before thesticker and for some reason i never got one in the mail either. my stocker springs w/ an AAL are in storage now, but none the less it would have been nice to be thought of:rolleyes:
