Ive noticed its kind of a hard transition shifting out of 4wd, not so much
going in to but coming out of 4wd. Ill get back on the pavement and at 20 mph ill shift back in to 2wd and clunk it goes back in to 2wd.

Just feels harsh like it isnt meshing well or something. Is this normal for 2nd gen tacos?

I usually shift out of 4wd before I start accelerating and if it doesn't pop right out of 4wd I put it in reverse then back in drive. That should help.

It's normal. Let off the gas, turn the dial, let it switch, then come back onto the gas. That should put you at ease.

Holding on the gas is most likely my problem, ill try letting off the gas from now on. Hopefully that will remedy it.
