I had 33x10.5 on my old LJ.

OP, please don’t tell me that’s not a 33 because I’m not near any safe spaces.

So my 285/70/R17 is not a true 33? What a rip off.

STMaxx? Or KM2s? Seem to be the most popular 2 options, I'm on my first set of STMaxx and probably have another year left in them. Thinking I might go with the new tire that Dick Cepek is offering in that size, the Extreme Country I think it was. Not much less expensive (~$230 per tire as opposed to the ~$240 on the Coopers) but I like trying something new.

Been very happy with the STMaxx though, no complaints. Have held up better than my previous KO2s did as far as getting chunked up on trails.

The shop is pulling a quick one on you. They don’t sell more 33s or 35s etc. Jeep, Tacos, 4runners etc all are moving onto a 17” rim. The shop has old stock and is looking for a sucker to buy them.

    So...what’s the answer?
Has anyone actually put ‘33s’ on their truck?

I'm on ST Maxx right now. I've run the Dick Cepek Extreme Country and Mastercraft CXT. TBH out of the three I liked the Mastercrafts the best.

Was just looking at those CXTs online, not as aggressive as the others but well reviewed and not a bad price. Might consider those next time too

Really good wet weather performance and seemed to wear better than the DCEC, but only put about 10k on them before selling that truck. The CXT are definitely the quietest of the three on the road and measure a hair over 33" (hopefully that doesn't trigger the OP) Both Mastercraft and Dick Cepek are Cooper brands FWIW.
