Whats with this new thing where people have a terrible idea, people tell them its a terrible idea, and then the people with the terrible idea complain people aren't being open minded enough and that's why they don't like their terrible idea?

I was raised in Texas, until I left for the Army in '85, and that's the only place I rode.....then again, the drinking age was 18 then too.

Ok, you just had to go and do it. I'm transplanted out of Texas, and you had to go and start with the W word. Lord I miss that place.

Cause if it came as a factory or dealer mod you and everyone like you would be whistling a different toon. Doesn't make it any more or less safe... But it does have the manufacturer's stamp of approval.

In Hawaii it's legal to ride in the bed of a p/up as long as the age of the person is over 12 and all seats in the cab are all occupied !!!!

My oh My, have times changed!

Growing up in the 50s & 60s, we rode in plenty of pickup beds and backs of station wagons without seats/seat belts! Back in January of 79, with my wife and two kids, we folded down the back seat and turned the back end of our Plymouth station wagon into a large "bed" for the two boys to wonder around in, while we drove across the country!

During the 80s, all of that changed and the Nanny States decided that we weren't being "Safe"! So now you have the mentality that unless you are "strapped down", you are not travelling safely! I'm still waiting for them to come out with roll cages and seat belts on motorcycles!

    Stuff, things, this, an ADS
Yup and the seats occupied thing is never enforced. Even I break that one 2-3 times a week. Me or my wife sit in the bed with the dog while we take her to the park. The only place you can’t ride in the bed is on military bases.
