I've found the most up to date info on the BDR's site. Just don't mention you aren't on a bike, they can be.... a little problematic...

I've done all of Oregon, most of Washington (had a couple of diversions due to snow) and very little of CA, none in SoCal.

That is awesome, I did the Nor Cal BDR last Sept and Most of Washington in '22. I would be very open to joining you for the So Cal part as I have not done that and it is on my list. Where are you based out of?

Nor Cal was good, not too difficult except at 1 point we had to reroute due to fires and ended up on a jeep trail that was not rated very difficult but had 3 or 4 pretty hard obstacles (my first dent @$#%#$^). For the Nor Cal section I would say try to hit the difficult or expert sections. Send me a PM with contact info if you want to talk in more detail.

No experience doing it but. I would start earlier in the year. If starting later in the summer I would consider going North to South and I would give myself a lot more time than three weeks. Expect high chance of storms in the PNW and Nor Cal in October as well as the days will not be very long.
