I really like the distributors options. As in, Toyota gives their distributors the “option” to jam the customer for $2800 of stuff that they didn’t ask for and can’t take off.

As a gesture of good will, Toyota should at least offer some of these early buyers a free shower immediately after their purchase.

I'm skeptical about the torque making it to the wheels. The engine may make torque that low but we won't get it. They did their best to limit torque from a stop on the 3rd gen because people don't know how to drive an unloaded bed. I'm betting the torque is limited to the wheels in the same way on the 4th gen.

I drove one yeaterday, torque was good, felt nice driving, road manners good in the off road. Seats were great and plenty of room in the back seating, I’m 5’10 but admittedly short legs long torso. The engine sounds… like a 4 cyl, idk it drove nice but definitely lacked the feeling of my two 3rd gen’s… just a small adjustment needed but it is really quiet compared to the 3.5 and 4.0s

    That's hilarious.

As someone who's owned both, it's not.

Yep. Colorado models without premium leather package all come with manual seats. You have to get the high end package just to get a power passenger seat.

Yep the power sliding rear window that was standard equipment is also now an additional cost option.

At least it is an option. My 23 ZR2 has manual slider, no option for electric .Useless, can't reach it from the front, and the dog can't help me with that. On the other hand, when open my box has to be free of straw, dirt and such, or it gets sucked into the cab.

Yeah I was actually kinda surprised by that. To be honest though, the only time I remember opening the slider on my 3rd gen was to flip off the friends driving behind me that I was road tripping with. We all have limousine tint on our cars in this state since it's legal, and no one can see you giving them the bird.

I haven't driven one yet but that's good news if it's true. Im still skeptical because why would they change course?

My big question is about the constant transmission shifting that occurs in my '19 model. Does the 4th gen constantly shift up and down at the slightest grade?

Difference being to get power seat the package is $2,435 not some $9,000 package option.

I think the 6MT will wake this motor up, and it will be quicker than the v6. Has anyone driven (or even seen) a 6 MT '24?

Just got one about 2 weeks ago...I had a 2017 and a 2020...both dogs....the 2024 almost feels and sounds like you went to a v8....more power....actually shifts going up hill instead of hanging in a gear and much more fun to drive.....a little better on gas also.

    Very nice review.

Sorry to say but the second picture in post #5 with the view of the passenger side makes my eyes hurt: the area above and around the front wheel-well and the door behind it especially. I couldn't look at that out in my driveway. I don't know what the stylists' goals were, but to me it looks like it was in some kind of broadside crash and repaired badly. Way over-styled. Kind of a minor point but the ride height/wheel well arches are too high for the tires it has on it. I also don't like the look/busy appearance of all the open mess behind them. A $5 rubber curtain would make difference

Maybe it's the color. (which I really like BTW) I'd like to see one in white.

Might be the color.....I do not like underground but I think I am in the minority since that is the color they are producing the most of right now. I think the red and blue look awesome though.

I drove one today and the shifting was incredibly smooth and not really noticeable at all.
