I guess like the title says. For the 2020+ Raptor lights you can't just tap into the DRL's. Because they are part of the blinker system.
So has anyone figured out how to make the raptor lights work with the DRL's on a 2020 and newer Tacoma?

    Please let me know?

    Mahalo!

I used an add-a-fuse in the underhood fuse box. I chose the injector fuse so mine were on if the truck was running. Makes for a quick indication if the truck is still running or not on the remote start.

Add a fuse to low beam. Raptor lights don’t really seem to serve a purpose during the daytime anyways to me.

Not completely accurate, the DRL and Blinker are in same assembly but they are 2 circuits.

I tried the wires. (I know which ones they are) BUT! The DRL turns off when the blinkers are in use. (2021 Tacoma) and that means the Raptor lights will turn off every time you use your blinkers.

Another reason to put them on low beam

Yes that's the way I have them now but they don't turn on during the day. Unless I turn on my headlights.

I want them to stay on with the DRL and the Head Lights.

The harness @daveeasa assembles joins the the 2 circuits with diodes so you don't loose the inputs. But, you do you Brada...

@caribe makaira is right (shocking, I know!). You can use Diodes to tie them (park and DRL) together if you want them to stay on when you turn the low beams on. I know the DRL "turn off", but I believe that is just giving priority to the turn signal, I believe power is still present in the DRL circuit? If I am wrong (besides Caribe letting me know ), you can grab DRL from both sides, diodes on each, and feed the grille lights with that. So unless you turn on the hazards, the grille lights would work if one turn signal was on because it would still get constant power from the other side

The dual connection is internal, the circuits enter the Headlamp Assembly via MX150 connector...you are tapping the circuits BEFORE they enter the Headlamp.

So the DRL does stay powered when the turn signal is on, correct?

Correct, unless the Low beam is selected, then it turns OFF. DRL stays powered (low) by TAIL circuit.

I tested it today and when the blinker is turned on the amber light is used. The White DRL circuit doesn't have power.

The DRL circuit wire is Green on both headlights. You do have LED headlights or are they Halogen?

    Howzit Toku!

How did you test? What method? Did you probe the wire feeding the headlamp with turn signal on while DRL is on via the stalk? Or did you just observe the light color of the C? Are your headlights open and if so did you probe something internal?

The internals of the headlight assembly have some akamai stuff. Especially the C shaped ring of DRL / Turn. On the bench you can see the delay when switching DRL or park on as the logic board figures out what it should do. My bench tester can send all 3 hot at the same time (DRL, Park and Turn) and let the buggah figure it out. Behavior is as expected and described, amber for turn wins out over the DRL when both signals are present, hence the delay for the white to make sure “not turning.” Otherwise it’d be changing between white and amber if DRL is on and that could be confusing to people. Not that it isn’t confusing (at least to me) when the non turn headlamp has white DRL on while the turn side is flashing amber. But that would appear to be the established expectation for all vehicles.

Now, the ECU on my truck may well be different than yours given that mine is a 2016 and came with halogen headlights. But my grille lights, wired via diode protected DRL and Park signals from the driver side headlight, do not turn off or flash for turns or hazards.

    Parking Lights

I actually would want the outer one to flash with turn if I could do so easily. Then keep the two in the middle off DRL / Park. I’d be rather jealous if that’s easy to do on newer trucks. For now I’m almost considering a turn T direct to single outer grille light in addition to my base 4 but wary of how ridiculous that is. Because if I did that then I’d want reverse sequential across the 4 next and it’s a slippery slope to da looney bin.

If the green wire to your headlight does indeed lose +12V with turn / hazard flashing, and it’s a big enough concern then a double tap like Johnny suggested would address that for turn without hazard. But Caribe is telling us that shouldn’t be the case. Maybe you have evidence proving otherwise? If so would you please spell out exactly what you are doing and observing so we can understand?

Some over the road van trailers have the outer most clearance light flash with the turn signal.

Getting the raptor lights to flash in sequence with the sequential turn signals would be awesome.

Lights, stickers, audio, and a grille…
    It’s doable. Here’s what I did with mine…
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/what-have-you-done-to-your-3rd-gen-today.399305/page-9853#post-25419936

I thought about sequencing them, but went down the rabbit hole and decided it would be too much work… Happy with how they operate currently, at least it’s different…
