Ahh dang man that sucks. I have a friend that removed the factory flares from his Ranger edge, I just remember how much of a PITA it was filling in all the holes and having the truck painted.

    I used these

Some of them wiggle around in the holes a bit, but it doesn't bother me.

My 06 has the 3M film, but no issue with mildew/stain/dirt whatever is building up there. Like others suggested I would remove the film via heat, then try to clean with adhesive remover. If that doesn't get it off try hitting it with some swirl remover or light rubbing compound, but I would start light. 3M also makes a tool that takes sticky stuff off, its like an eraser on a pencil and you can put it on a drill. It doesn't harm the paint.

Stop by an air craft repair shop the film was designed to be used on the leading edge of air craft wings bet they have a good ideal on how to deal with it. Mine are fine just a bit of a pain to get the wax out of the edge nothing inside.

sadly, I've only put Husky Liners in it thus far - tend to blow all my cash on my bikes and guitars.
Likely slim to none. I would wager the dealer would say it's no different than trying to warrant stone chipped paint, I believe they're deemed "wear items".
Use a heatgun on lowest setting to soften the old stuff and slowly peel it off. Goo gone or similar acetone based solvent will take the remaining adhesive off. Then use a glass and surface cleaner to strip the adhesive remover residue. Then either thoroughly wax the area, or replace with this cheaper alternative...

    Holy CRAP!

I have used a heat gun and a guitar pic to pull em off. Then body prep cleaner to clean the goop.

They're really easy to get off. Dont overthink it... blow dryer and 5 minutes. You can lift/remove with your fingers, dont need picks or prodders.

A combination of windex and goo-gone had the remaining outlines gone in a few minutes.
