    Had this issue on my '01 after only 2 years. Peeled them off with finger nails, patience, and a beer, lol. Now I just peel them off as soon as I take the truck home (they pull off in one piece easily when they are brand new). I've done this on my '05, '12, and now the '14. No exess chipping over all the years.
