Has anyone installed a "T" near the heater valve for bleeding air from coolant

    Looks good, looks better with the constant tension clamps than my 80 series Cruiser does with the worm clamps :anonymous:

    I ended up taking it off at the end. The system was easy to bleed using the big yellow funnel that I bought a NAPA years ago. Nothing wrong with it though. I would get a brass cap if I kept it.

    I’m a little confused, if there is AIR in the system will it purge its self through the expansion tank
    as long as the expansion tank is at the full mark which is 1/2 the tank? and the cap is working correctly

    Theoretically, yes it should. Does it always work that way? Doesn't seem like it

    I remember seeing a 80 or 90s Chevy with a radiator cap on the side of the tank lower than the top
    of the radiator, so theoretically you could not top off the radiator from the cap because the cap
    was lower than the top of the radiator.

    So I’m guessing that’s how the overflow tank works then?
    It sucks in the difference?

    If the radiator cap is lower than the top of the radiator how do you bleed the system otherwise

    On the 1st gen 3.4, I let it run with the heater valve opened up and the front of the truck jacked up. Air bubbles out into the big funnel.

    Yeah the idea is that the air in the system will make its way to the cap and then the overflow tank. Then when engine is shut off and it coolant cools down and retracts and coolant is sucked in as it cools
    That's if I understand it correctly

    Have you guys ever seen a car with two radiator caps?

    One cap off the engine cooling line above the water pump

    I actually like this process because you know for sure all the air is out from the higher location and cost was 8.00 for the valve and funnel.
    Filled the front section from the radiator cap 1st then the back
    And an old magnet on the hood to hang the funnel in place


    I might look for a metal valve tho
