Can you show what's in the kit. I though it was a bit pricey considering those leds are about 50cent per on eBay.
Reserving judgement, maybe there's some fancy mounting brackets or something.

What I ended up doing was running the wire with the fuse tap inside the truck to the indoor fuse box. It's labeled power outlet number 1. This makes the lights go on and off with the truck

Are the brackets stainless? Painted or powdercoated?

You can get something similar from oznium for about $15.

Just get black / amber. Or whatever other color you want instead:
    https://www.oznium.com/side-view-led-bolt

I would wire it to a relay that is switched from the daytime running lights or headlights. Not sure if the daytime running lights turn off once the headlights are on.

I wonder if those ozniums would be good for lighting footwells. Coming from an Audi, which has lighting all over the place, I find it pretty dark in the cabin.

I assure you our LED's are not 50 cents. We only use the best parts available. The time, effort and parts needed to make these are probably much more these you realize.

Just ask member @MADSTEEZE if the quality holds up the constant off road abuse that he puts them through.

Fuse tap goes to the switched fused panel inside the cab near the drivers side kick panel.

Prefect install! That's exactly how to wire the kit.

lol call them taco lights and we are good to go :D

The LED's in the link have failed for other members, thats why we came out with this kit which is much more robust then license plate bolt lights.

These kits do not require a relay as the amperage draw is under 2 amps.

    Thank your Sir!

Meh, I used the oznium lights for 5 years no problems. And I only suggest a relay so you could wire them into coming on with either DRL or headlights, also giving you the option of turning them off with the DRL Off switch.

Given the low draw, any particular reason folks would not just splice this directly into the DRL harness vs opposed to running it to the cab?

Probably liability and warranty concerns cutting into the jacketing.
