cousins 3rd gen that I just finished. SOS kit, 20x9’s wrapped in 275/55r20 to keep the wells nice and stuffed looking.
pinch welds hammered flat, little bit of trimming on rear part of front fender/mud flap, and a bit of heat gun massage therapy on fender liners. Rears fit no I problem

On the most recent set of tires that I have. 295/45 R20, I had to use the heat gun up front as well.

That’s a cool looking truck. Lowering with big wheels really make the look great.

Folks with 17-18" rims any issues afterwards?

I want to bring my truck down all around by 3", I know the kit only does 2.5 up front but that'll work for now I guess...I also want 18" rims, wider but no taller overall than stock so worried about rubbing after the drop.

Also I heard a rumor that the DJM lowering kits for the 2nd Gen also fits the 3rd Gens. I don't feel safe buying suspension parts off ebay especially with no brand or multiple brands listed and none of those can be found on google...suspension isn't something to fool with.

From my reading, it appears the SOS lowering kit is the recommended kit for a 3rd Gen?

What are some good places to find quality rims?

@hemitruk what size tires are you running with the 4runner wheels? 265/50/20? I'm debating if I would go with those or the 18 inch limited wheels from the Tacoma when and if I lower.

Lowered trucks aren't necessarily my cup of tea, but if I drove one...……...I'd want one pretty low.

Also, does adding a shit ton of weight from sliders, skids, etc to stock suspension count? This was pre-lift :D

This thread is making me miss my 1992 Mazda B2200. If I ever find another there's no doubt in my mind I'm buying it for a street truck.
