Has anyone noticed their back up camera image becoming less clear ?

As the thread title states , I've noticed my back up camera image is becoming less crisp and almost foggy around the outer edges

I clean the camera fairly regularily and don't notice any obvious defects in the camera cover , nor do I see any obvious condensation inside the lens cover

Wondering if anyone else has noticed the same

just wipe it down, OZ (the exterior lens, that is). although have noticed a slight slowing-down, and redundancy in your posts...................

what about the display for the camera? could the screen be dirty?

 

No , it looks like the lens is fogging but I don't see evidence of condensation at the camera

 

hm, i wonder if is possible for UV to affect the camera lens, i wouldn't think so but...

When you wipe it off, do you just use your finger and rub it across the lens?

You might be accidentally pushing thedirt and grime into the corners (edge?). Not really noticeable when just looking at it, but it would be when then camera is on.

Just a thought.

I've noticed mine seems to have, but mine is a aftermarket wired into my touchscreen DVD player (also aftermarket, of course). I was thinking it was a UV issue, not sure though. It's just a overall dulling of the image in my case.

 

my dad started noticing the same on our 2010, but it turned out that ouyin was right, there was dirt in the corners of the lens

after I cleaned it with a microfiber cloth it went back to normal

Upon closer inspection with a flashlight it looks like the lens cover has lots of fine scratches in it , I'll try a microfibre glass cloth when I get home

Denatured Alcohol works really good on any type of lens...

 

You may need to refocus your camera by holding down the button at the rear view mirror for 2 minutes. This allows for the cofob direct link (camera verbiage) to reset. After you have reset the camera (it should blink twice), turn the truck off and then back on.

If this don't work you will probably have to replace c-snap, which is located at the camera connection when the tailgate it down.
