Running into a small issue with my new Tacoma where I need a bit more power out in the field. Has anyone installed a larger inverter? 100W driving around just doesn't cut it.

Not sure the truck electrics could handle it. Best option would be a dual lithium battery set up with a sine waver inverter and a DC/DC charger.

I found that my EcoFlow Delta 2 does not like the non pure sine wave A/C output of my '17 Tacoma's inverter.

And I have the 400W anytime mod.

If I were working with that much tech ina Tacoma, I would install a true sine wave inverter from Redarc or similar system.

As it sits for me, I charge my EcoFlow with 8amps D/C from a dedicated circuit I installed under the passenger rear seat with 10awg wiring.

Otherwise, 200W of solar to the EcoFlow while parked. I only run a fridge and recharge USB stuff.

I haven't tested it but I did partially assume that built-in inverter wouldnt work as well as just using the DC-out to charge a battery. I have a 220W folding panel right now and a 200W flexible panel for the top of a camper shell.

Things get fun when you have 7200W on tap in your trunk :-D

Although that does give the 400W anytime (same unit I have), the Tacoma inverter is not pure sine wave. The EcoFlow units are very picky regarding this seemingly small issue.

My Jackassery 1000 didn't give a crap what quality the inverter sine wave is. It was also throttles to about 168W input even though I had 400W available.

Are you running a campsite Disco system that we need to know about?

I’d add up your usage, and list it. All that stuff might not be able to run off the alternator’s output. Looks like you might need a generator or a dedicated additional alternator to run.
