has anyone ran bilstein at 1.75 and eibach?

    Search, you'll find at least a few people running that setup!

    NO! you will not see people running that setup .85 is the highest setting you can set the 5100's with the Eibachs.

    thats what i thought. can you explain why bc toytec didn't do a very good job explaining why, they just say don't.

    they just said stiff ride and possible damage to axle. but whats the difference in that which is equal to 3.25" and the toytec coilover which you can extend to 3.5? i trust you guys and set them to .85, i just wanna know the difference

    to be honest i dont know why it just isnt good. somebody will chime in that knows why maybe chris4x4 will know

    You cannot run anything over 3" of lift on a tacoma (without a drop bracket or SAS) because the shocks will have basically no down-travel left, and at full droop your ball joints will be binding.


    EDIT: and if it's not obvious, what I was getting at is that 1.75" +1.6" = 3.35" of lift.

    Aren't the Eibach coils already 1.6" longer than the OEM coils ?

    They provide 1.6" of lift, correct. I'm not sure if it's all because of length, or if some of it is due to the springs being stiffer.

    i compared it to my stock spring when i installed, it might be about .5" longer, but its way stiffer. on the compressor we turned maybe 3 turns to compress stock spring with 113k miles, and the eibach took about 6 or 7 turns, it was a big difference.

    So they have a stiffer spring rate .

    If you preload them further with the billys they will ride like a rock .

    thats the only reason i can see, which with stiffer coils, you would have stiffer ride and it would be harder on everything else such as ball joints, axles, etc.

    right i understand this, but how is it that some are running 3.5" with coil overs? Relentless is running 3.25" with out SAS or DB, are they just simply ignoring all this, or do they have something i don't see?

    They are probably OK with replacing the CV's periodically .

    thats what i figured. i just want mine to sit more level, its still front heavy.
