Has anyone removed their tag light sockets?

My super white ‘14 is showing some rusty streaks coming down from one of the tag lights in the rear bumper. I’d like to pull them and clean around them, maybe touch up whatever is rusting. Does anyone have experience pulling those out of the bumper?

 

I replaced mine with LED. I think/recall you just remove the screw to the cover and they pop out. There's a small tab that keeps the non screw end in place.

I removed them from my factory bumper and reinstalled them in my new bumper with LEDs. I don't recall anything very complicated removing them.

I've got a bit of bubbling in the paint near the cutout for the light. I scaled it and brush painted behind the light to hopefully keep it in check for a while.
