    Hey guys,

A little confused on this form pictured below..
I was told it's because my brand new 2017 Tacoma had 219 miles from being transported from two different dealerships and that's all.

But now I'm wondering if there is more to it because nothing is checked, and I've also noticed the passenger side of the vehicle doesn't match well from front to back which some on here say is normal for MGM.

This form is in the state of Maryland, does anyone have any better understanding of it or is this a normal form when purchasing a new vehicle?

How far apart were the dealerships involved?
Some of the miles may have been from test drives or the vehicle being used by the dealership.
I have bought demos in the past and vehicles that were traded back and forth from dealerships and never had anything like that given to me. I live in Ohio.
I doubt its anything more than a formality to protect the dealerships.
To be safe really look your Tacoma over and maybe have a body shop check it over in case it was damaged. They keep harping on flood damaged cars in my area coming up from Texas and Florida.
I saw where a lot of dealerships were under water in Houston.
Odds are you dont have anything to worry about but have someone check it out to be safe.

Did you buy it or are you asking before you buy?

    Well, I bought it.

I noticed a day or two later that the passenger side was a bit darker from the rear door back.

Then I started going over my paperwork again to see if I overlooked something, and saw this form and began reading into it more and started wondering what it actually meant.

The original dealer was in Dover Delaware, the vehicle then went to Stafford Virginia before my dealer in Bowie Maryland.

    Approximately 206 miles total.

That explains the miles. Hope its just a formality.
If still having doubts get someone you trust to look at it.
Hopefully someone in Maryland will see this and give you some more insight.
I got 8000 miles on my Tacoma and love it. You'll be happy with yours.

Greatly appreciate your replies, was hoping the same that someone from Maryland would chime in as well.

The miles are definitely consistent with he dealership travel, then plus a few for test drives I'd say.

But once I noticed the paint and started reading this form, an 'oh fuck' moment occurred.

Does the form have a document number on it at the bottom or top corners? If so, search that number and it will tell you what its purpose is. It really just looks like a cover your ass form from the dealer because it had over 200 miles on it. Now, one of the boxes should have been checked, and that would cover both you and the dealer, because as it stands now, there is nothing checked stating where those miles came from. I would not worry about it right now, and when you can in the next few days or weeks, go back to the dealer and have them check off a box and initial next to it.

OP - I bought an "ad car" (aka the car featured in an ad at a deep discount just to get you in the door with no intention of selling it) recently at a Ford dealership and they had a form similar to this. I thought they were trying to scare me off from a good deal. They made the whole thing a big pain in the ass so I thought it was a dealer tactic.

The car had 700 miles on it and it had never been titled so it was new still. It was just a demo car. The sales guy slipped me the form for me to sign and I didn't sign it. He signed one of the lines in highlighter so, to me, it was BS.

I saved $8,000 on the deal but it was a real fistfight to get it. Did you get a real good deal on this vehicle? The reason I ask is that this form may have something to do with a discount deal.

FWIW you might consider doing a CarFax on it just to see what pops up.

No offense my man, but if this is how you’re spending your Christmas, you should should just get rid of of the truck.
You aren’t off to the start of a good relationship with your truck, with all this Paranoia.

Same form in TN - I wanted a SSM OR 4x4 w towing and the only one at the time was 170 miles away. I received a form like the one you posted as well as another disclosure that basically said they had a “professional” drive it down to my dealer...

That would make more sense then..

    Some people work on Christmas.

And yeah, not a good feeling when you look down the side of your new vehicle and it looks like Helen Keller painted it. I could jump to conclusions and say it was repainted, but I came on the forums to ask if anyone else experienced it first before throwing stones.

Aka, a retiree that they throw a little cash at to occupy his time a few hours a week to avoid paying transport fees from an auto transport company.

It’s nothing more than a CYA form since your truck had 219 miles that they failed to check a box on. If there was damage they would have had to complete the disclosure at the bottom.

OP - regarding paint matching, there have been other posts in the past where some panels appear slightly off color wise on brand new trucks. Some of the areas are plastic, others are metal, and the way the light hits it etc. which might have something to do with what you are noticing. White color matching seems to be a somewhat common problem.

I've seen a lot of 2016 and 2017 tacomas with mismatched painted panels. Your's isn't special, just another 3rd gen problem.

MGM color mismatch has existed since the 2nd gen. Same paint, same process.

TIL... the 3rd gen envy is real. :poking:
