If anyone is interested in a black bumper and can’t find someone to swap with, you can purchase the bumper “skin” from these folks www.toyotapartsbarn.com. The part No. is 5215104907 and runs about $163.23 plus shipping.

Toyota Parts Barn is just outside Cleveland Ohio, I’m in Springfield, MO. I was surprised that shipping was only about $26.00 via UPS. I ordered on a Thursday and had the new bumper the next Wednesday. Contact a fellow there by the name of Gary Osborne. He was a great help in finding what I needed.

The bumper came in a primer coated black finish. I probably could nave just bolted it on the way it came. I wanted a few more layers of protection between the steel and the elements. I scuffed the primer coat and sprayed some self etching primer and a couple of coats of satin black paint. Nothing fancy just rattle can paint from Home Depot. Easy project and IMO looks better than the chrome.

Called Gary today and he hooked me up with the rear black skin. 183 shipped! Got 200 for my chrome skin. I actually made money in this deal!.

Took the bumper off and stripped it down to the skin tonight....man there are a lot of bolts. I am going to relocate my 7 pin plug while I got the bumper off as well.
