Has anyone tried using a 2nd Gen strut spring on a 1st Gen?

None so far. It's a work truck.
I tried looking up this on the forum but have had no luck. I am upgrading my struts to 5100's and thought abought upgrading the springs and found some 2nd Gen springs to use. They seem thicker but I haven't tried putting them onto the struts yet.
From all the sites that sell springs, the part numbers are always different for 1st and 2nd Gen. I am just seeing if anyone else had tried that here.
