Correct, they are factory shocks. I never said otherwise. Toyota put the yellow Bilsteins on the offroad models and the black shocks on the sr5 and base models. But this particular model did not come with the yellow shocks. They were swapped. Also, my 2007 SR5 did not have the yellow shocks.

That model is an SR5, and yes, SR5 most certainly DID come with those shocks. Nothing on it was swapped.

Agree to disagree. My experience tells me otherwise. In any case, the OP's question was if the truck has been lifted, and the answer is no.

Oh, I think you misunderstand. I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with you, that implies that there is room for compromise. I'm stating facts.

I don't misunderstand a thing. Do a bit on searching on this forum and you'll see that you are wrong. My guess is that it was an optional upgrade, but certainly not standard as you are stating. Anyway, this is my last post on this topic since we're running in circles.

Right, so the SR5 with original factory yellow and blue shock aborbers sitting 50 feet from me right now is just a figment of my imagination, right?

Right so the 06 TRD sport dcsb prerunner I'm looking at right now with stock black struts on is also a figment of my imagination. Nope. Toyota and Toyota dealers did some funky fitments with trucks on the second gens. I've seen it on tundras also. A regular base model with bilsteins and a few other options added. We have to remember that our trucks can be ordered from the factory in almost any configuration. Most of the prerunners came with black shocks and struts. If yours or his are stock with bilsteins then the dealer ordered it that way. It's not a reason to argue.

Part of the bounce your getting over bumps and such is because your struts and shocks are worn out. Get some 5100s and you will notice better road holding. Also grab a 40 inch wide tool box and throw it in the bed with about 200 pounds of gear in it and it will ride a lot better.

Gents, no need to argue. I appreciate all the comments. It has given me a lot of information that I previously did not have.
As I mentioned in an earlier post, the previous owner did say that the shocks were replaced when the truck was about 100K.
Very possible it was replaced with the same or upgrade to Bilstein 4600.
What I have realized that this truck is plenty high for us (right now). My 5'0 wife has enough trouble getting in it and I'm love the no side step look.
I do feel that the back end does not have enough weight, so I'm going to explore adding weight to the back as Colotacoprerunner06 suggested.
Helping my buddy move a sofa this weekend so that would be a good test.

My 2008 SR5 PreRunner most definitely, did not come with Billies from the factory. Bought it brand new with 3 miles on the clock. Can you substantiate these claims?
