I see what you did there, just wondering how many others caught the humor.

You have plenty of payload for your bike, but you might want to check the payload sticker on the drivers door jamb. I'm not as familiar with the 3rd gens, but none of the 2nd gens have that much payload. And the long beds have less than short beds. Just in case you do need to haul something heavier down the road it'd be good to know for sure.

Personally I like a trailer much better than trying to load/unload a bike from the bed of any truck.

Usually around 13-14mpg. If doing a lot of mountain driving or long drives off road it drops to about 11-12mpg. I am running 265/75/16 wildpeaks. I’m very happy with the setup.

Used two ramps, one for the bike (centered and strapped to the hitch to keep from sliding) and one to the side for me to walk up. I did need a second person to help stabilize the bike while I strapped it in. Strapped in the front and back of the bike. Bike is a 2007 Ducati SportClassic GT1000. These were cheaper straps without the spring locks on the hook ends, and I was paranoid and watching them in the rearview the entire time. I wish I'd just gotten the more expensive straps.

I bought a BMW 1200 GS in Florida, put it in the back of the Tacoma and drove to Utah with no problems. FWIW the bike weighs 525 wet.

Hauled my Sportster 1200 no problem in my longbed, backed into the ditch and used a ramp to make it a little easier as they are pretty low. I put a small piece of plywood under the kick stand to distribute the weight a little better.

Have used a uHaul trailer made for bikes before but still had to find a slope as the bike bottomed out on it.

Was stoked to find my giant-ass motorcycle fits in my new DCLB pretty easily. Took it to the mountains this weekend this way and it worked out great.
