also the actual number was 40k+ which is a conservative figure. But I believe those are only calculations based on the occupants dying instantly in the collision
I don’t believe it factors in death at the hospital or at a later time due to complications from the collision.

Maybe stay inside forever. That would protect you and your dogs from all the "what if's" in life. I don't live mine stressing over "what if". My dogs don't either. We'll all be fine... But back to comparing dogs to humans. Here's my point. If your dog ran up to me barking & I thought its intention was to harm me, without hesitation, I'd kick the fuck out of your dog. If your kid ran up to me screaming & I thought its intention was to harm me, without hesitation, I'd laugh & tell him that it's going to be ok. I don't treat dogs like humans, and I don't treat humans like dogs. One's a pet. One's a person. They're not the same, so you can't compare the two. & you won't change my mind.

My dog is a straight up tard. Even my other dogs think so, this one does not understand how to interact with humans, dogs, or squirrels. So dumb shes almost goofy. The story I get from the prior owner is that she must have been kicked in the head by a mule. They get to ride in the special hammock in my back seat, but the stupid one will only listen to Jimmy Buffet or Toby Kieth on the radio.

    I knew someone would, LOL.

A buddy of mine, who is my age was telling me about when he was a kid and the family went of trips in their sedan. The back seat was filled up with his older siblings so he had to lay by the back window on the rear deck. Could you imagine seeing that now.

There's 10,000 fatalities from car crashes per year in one county around SF? No, no there's not.

you’re missing the point. Obviously there’s a difference between a dog and a human. I don’t treat my dogs like “humans”. However they should be given the same care and needs. Which I do for my dogs.

I tether both my dogs to the rearmost bed tie downs using a 2' tether. They can move around enough to be comfortable, but can't get more than a front leg up over the bedside.

They might get fucked up in a crash, but they might not... just like I might. FWIW I've handled several crashes where a dog in the passenger compartment of a car was killed, several by being ejected in a rollover and at least 2 at slower speeds just by being bounced off shit in the car. There's no 100% safe option so desiring to kick in a person's teeth because they transport their dogs differently than you do is pretty fucking stupid...

I feel you on having a tard of a dog he could get kicked in the head by a mile and he’d still be wagging his tail as if it’s time for a walk in the woods Cesar Milan couldn’t teach that poor boy to sit
